Institution Profile: Nova College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research was established in the academic year 2007-2008 in green serene, pollution free, calm area called Jupudi. Our college is affiliated to JNTU Kakinada and is recognized by AICTE and PCI, New Delhi. The college started with an intake of 60 students and there were a total of 58 outgoing students in the first batch with a total pass percentage of 98% in B. Pharmacy course. Post graduation in Pharmacy was started in October 2011, and presently the college is offering Bachelor of Pharmacy and Masters of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis & Q A with a total strength of 400 students. P h a r m D P r o g r a m m e s t a r t e d i n t h i s y e a r 2 0 1 5-1 6 w i t h 3 0 i n t a k e INFRASTRUCTURE: The institution is well equipped with modern, advanced and sophisticated instruments and apparatus in order to offer the training and research need of the students as per norms of the Pharmacy Council of India, AICTE and JNTU-K. The machine room and M. Pharmacy research laboratories, in particular, are well facilitated with state of the art equipment to serve the need of postgraduate students of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology. The library is spacious and sufficiently stocked with huge collection of books and journals. The library is computerized and has about 6000 text books needed for B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy courses. In addition to this the library is well furnished with various national, international journals of Pharmacy, Science and technology and online library facilities for students and staff to access hundred of research information. ACADEMICS: Three batches from B.Pharmacy were passed with a good result of 95%, 85% and 92% of the final year students secured good result in 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-2014, respectively. Many of our outgoing students are placed in reputed industries, colleges and few are placed in pharmaceutical organizations in USA and UK. Our college is continuously busy with various activities like seminars, sports, industrial tours and educational activity. INDUSTRIAL -INSTITUTION INTERACTION: 1. Noni Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Chennai made a collaboration with our institution for the Study and Safety assessment of Noni Fruit Juice concentrate. 2. Nova College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research enter research collaboration with OyaGen inc, Rochester, New York, USA for Designing of Novel activator of APOBEC-.3G as potential inhibitor of HIV replication. 3. Nova College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research made research collaboration with Makore Labs Hyderabad for small molecule drug discovery 4. NCPER working with laboratory of Molecular Virology, Dept of Biotechnology, IIT-M for investigation of anticancer activity of Noni Juice in association with Noni Biotech, 5. NCPER working with Biotechnology, Manipal University for investigation of hepatotoxicity and hepatoprotective activity of Noni Juice in association with Noni Biotech, Chennai 6. NCPER working SPIRA Laboratory Hyderabad for investigation of Preclinical Safety activity of Noni Juice in association with Noni Biotech, Chennai 7. Seminar on Recent trends in HPLc technique Date: 31.10.2015 Summary NCPER organized National seminar on Recent trends in HPLC TECHNIQUE on 31.10.2015 and Dr. G Satyanarayana., M.Sc.,Ph.D., LLB, Alekya Labs Vijayawada invited as guest of Honour and speaker for this seminar. Dr. J. Srinivasa Rao Director, Nova group of college, Jupudi delivered the inaugural address, Dr.Satyanaraya delivered the special lecture on Recent trends in HPLC TECHNIQUE in this seminar and actively interacted with B. Pharm and Pharm D students. He released the Nova Pharma News letter Vol 2, issue 20, 2015. Dr.P.Selvam FNABS., Professor and Principal proposed vote of thanks.
