Parental Support Reading & Speaking Encourage a reading habit. Select and read newspaper/magazin e articles together. Writing Encourage your child to keep a journal. Parental Support Encourage them to construct concept map for revision of topics. Show them science phenomena that occur in everyday activities E.g. Why water droplets are formed on the chilled drink can after it is taken out from the fridge? Encourage them to observe their environment and ask questions. If you don t have the answer for the question, acknowledge your child s effort in asking questions and guide him/her as he/she look for an answer. Encourage them to read Science magazines and watch educational documentaries. Do not throw away P3 P6 Science TBs, WBs and files, all books and files are needed for PSLE revision. 34

PSLE Exam Format MT exemption (HIGHER) Bilingual Policy in Singapore to offer one Mother Tongue Exemption is only offered to students who have learning disability or enter into the Singapore educational system mid stream Alternative, students can opt to be offered foreign language/ NTIL language in lieu of Mother Tongue with approval from MOE http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/retu rning-singaporeans/mother-tongue-policy/ 43
