Grade 10 IB-MYP Programming: Grade 10 H/ IB-MYP Programmes: Grade 10 students have 3 IB-MYP Enrollment Options: Full IB- MYP H/IB- MYP Course French Immersion Candidates Candidates Candidates All Students will be enrolled in some of our grade 10 H/IB-MYP courses. This includes Alberta Learning Curriculum using IB-MYP Standards Amalgamation of IB global contexts, key concepts and related key concepts into the Alberta Program of Studies. The Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning become integral to better understanding curriculum objectives. Students are assessed using Alberta Learning Curriculum that incorporates MYP criterion. This prepares students for the possibility of entering the IB Diploma Programme in their Grade 11 year.
Full IB-MYP Candidates (Grade 10): Full IB-MYP Candidates A Full IB-MYP Candidate is a student who completes year 5 of the IB-MYP programme coming from their Junior High IB- MYP Programme. The student must complete the full complement of H/IB-MYP Courses (8) and conclude with the Personal Project. Full IB- MYP Candidate Course Load (Total 8 Full Blocks) English 10-1 H/IB MYP Second Language 10-1 H/IB- MYP (French B, Spanish ab initio) Social Studies 10-1 H/ IB MYP Science 10-1 H/ IB MYP Math 10-Combined H/ IB- MYP Physical Education 10 Wellness H/ IB- MYP Design Studies 10 H/ IB- MYP Religious Studies 15 MYP Personal Project Advantages of the Full IB-MYP Programme Expand academic potential in all subject areas. Receive the unique H/IB-MYP Approaches to Learning, Key and Related Concepts as well as Global Contexts that allow for inter curricular connections. Work on their personal projects through PLT sessions as well as a ONE DAY workshop during exam break. Become familiar with IB Diploma classes through exposure to command terms and IB Diploma assessments. Become better prepared for the IB Diploma through the completion of the Personal Project. Receive and MYP certificate as well as an MYP final report card. Receive 5 credits for the completion of the Personal Project. MYP Explorer award recipient will be honoured. IB Gala showcasing Personal Projects. Mentoring Grade 9 students who have chosen to complete their MYP certificate.
H/IB-MYP Course Candidates (Grade 10): H/ IB MYP Course Candidates An H/IB-MYP Course Candidate is a student who takes H/IB-MYP courses but has not completed year 1-4 in their respective junior high. These students include all of our Grade 10 students who are not a full IB-MYP candidate. H/ IB-MYP Course Candidate Load (Total 8 Full Blocks) Mandatory Courses: English 10-1 H/IB MYP Social Studies 10-1 H/ IB MYP Science 10-1 H/ IB MYP Math 10-Combined H/ IB- MYP Physical Education 10 Wellness H/ IB- MYP Religious Studies Students will need to select additional courses which may be part of the H/IB-MYP course offerings at the grade 10 level. At MAC our French Immersion students are exposed to a variety of learning experiences nationally and internationally through video conferences with the Centre for Global Education.
