Trainer s Guide» Tastefully Simple presents: 8 of 9 The Three Principles Tastefully Simple has three core principles: Be Abundant, Make Magic and Be Real. These principles are designed to define expectations and guide team members attitudes and behavior. Tastefully Simple s unique culture is full of energy, passion and excellence. Their team members have a passion for what they do, enjoy being at work and make a direct impact on the company s phenomenal growth. BE ABUNDANT Foster peace of mind through win-win attitudes. Being abundant means giving back more than you take and understanding there is more than enough to go around. This principle also means sharing resources, knowledge and time in your personal and professional life. Being abundant means creating a culture of giving, coaching others, and helping colleagues grow by sharing knowledge. At work, abundance means fostering teamwork and understanding the value of giving back to those you work with. MAKE MAGIC Create positive energy through celebration and excellence. People spend a lot of time at work, and for some going to work every day can resemble a chore. Making magic, harnessing positive energy and creating a culture based on passion for your work means people wake up energized and excited to go to work. Part of making magic means celebrating everything not only the big sales and promotions, but also the smaller accomplishments like positive feedback from a customer or finding a new client. Making magic also means that team members have a strong drive for excellence at work. They work hard and do their best with a good attitude every single day because they have a passion for what they do, and because they know their work will be recognized. When leaders and managers make every effort to acknowledge, reward and respect the members of their team and organization, it is a lot easier to encourage hard work and find success as a team. BE REAL Build trust through humbleness. People want to be able to be themselves at work. And that s what being real is all about: understanding that you don t have all the answers and mistakes will definitely happen. When a problem does arise, own up to it and do your best to solve the problem. Being real also means being comfortable asking for help when you need it, while offering to help others at the same time. Being open to honest feedback, while simultaneously recognizing that your colleagues have great ideas to offer, will also help teams build trust. Another critical element of being real means being authentic and doing what you say you are going to do. When this happens, every team member, regardless of their position or title, has an opportunity to be a leader in some capacity.
