Meeting Call to Order Approved minutes of the May 3, 2010 Regular Board of Education Meeting and the May 10 and May 17, 2010 Special Board of Education meetings. Accepted agenda as presented. 2. Matters of the Public Good News o Congratulated Dr. Wanda P. Dawson for her appointment by Governor Beverly Eaves Perdue to the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) Board. o Fifth grade students at Fred A. Anderson participated in the Doodle 4 Google homepage logo competition in their art classes. o Congratulated the Pamlico County High April Character Education Winners! o Congratulated the Pamlico County High May Character Education Winners! o Congratulated the Show Choir and Show Choir Individuals who received awards during a recent competition. o Congratulated the High Band which received awards during a recent competition. o Congratulated the High Drama Club who presented the All in the Timing production on May 28-29, 2010. Approved Memorandum of Agreement between the Pamlico County s and Pamlico County Health Department for Fiscal Year 2010-2011. Received notification of contract signed by the Superintendent, between the Pamlico County s and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health for Fiscal Year 2010-2011 subject to Board Policy # 2500 Entitled, Contract Administration. Received Calendar of Events for the months of June, 2010 and July, 2010. Received information on the National Boards Association (NSBA) 2010 Southern Region Conference scheduled for July 11-13, 2010 in Williamsburg, Virginia. Received Membership 2009-2010 Report for the 160 th day of school in 2009-2010. Page 2 Received final report from the N.C. STEP Economic Development Strategy Plan & Implementation Strategy for 2010 as presented to the Bayboro Board of Commissioners and noted within the proposed N.C. Real Training of Pamlico County Teachers as well as Pamlico Community College Professors.

Received General Assembly of North Carolina, Session 2009, Senate Bill 704, Ratified Bill as it applies to the expansion of charter schools under the Reform of Continually Low-performing s. Received information for Roll-Out Plan for the new North Carolina Standards and Assessments from 2010-2011 through 2012-2013. Received information from the Military Growth Task Force about Military Growth Surpasses Projections. 4. Instruction Heard presentation on the Physics Class recent trip to Busch Gardens. Approved the Career and Technical Education Annual Local Planning. Approved Trips. Approved the North Carolina Title I Application for 2010-2011. 5. Finance Approved the Optional Student Insurance Coverage provided by Zaytoun & Associates. Approved Errors & Omissions/General Liability and Automobile Insurance Coverage for 2010-2011. Approved the 2010-2011 Pamlico County s Student Fee Schedule. Heard discussion on exploring contracted services for cleaning and ground keeping services for certain buildings owned and operated by the Pamlico County District. Heard update on the Budget for 2010-2011 especially for the Local/Current Budget and the Capital Outlay as proposed by the County Commissioners. Page 3

6. Governance Heard presentation on a revision to Board Policy # 6401 Student Code of Conduct. Approved the scheduling of a Special-Called Board of Education meeting for June 29, 2010. Approved adjourning the public meeting to closed session.
