BOB), online library and guest lecturers. Lectures will provide the frameworks and concepts for learning and the online study support materials & online library will deepen strategic knowledge ready to apply to problems posed. This is a highly interactive module with seminars prompting deep discussion of applied strategic problems in different contexts. The applied nature of the course will involve the use of many case studies in different contexts, Indicative Formative Assessment: Group based, research focused, strategic problem solving with a presentation in seminar time, normally involving a strategic external analysis of an industry. Feedback will be given orally immediately following the presentation. The formative assessment exercise will normally provide a foundation for the assessed course work and be relevant to the exam. Allocation of study hours (indicative) Where 10 credits = 100 learning hours SCHEDULED This is an indication of the number of hours students can expect to spend in scheduled teaching activities including lectures, seminars, tutorials, project supervision, demonstrations, practical classes and workshops, supervised time in workshops/ studios, fieldwork, and external visits. Study hours 44 GUIDED INDEPENDENT STUDY All students are expected to undertake guided independent study which includes wider reading/ practice, follow-up work, the completion of assessment tasks, and revisions. 156 PLACEMENT The placement is a specific type of learning away from the University. It includes work-based learning and study that occurs overseas. TOTAL STUDY HOURS 200 Assessment tasks Details of assessment on this module Task 1 Group Assignment (normally consisting of an oral presentation (20 Mins, including question and answers) and short written report (approx 600 words). This will normally be a research focused, team based applied strategy problem. Individual marks may be awarded based on an individual s qualitative and/or quantitative contribution to achieving the assignment learning outcomes. Students will be informed of the grounds on which individual marks are awarded by the module team. 30% of total marks (LO 4 & 5)
