We thank God for their dedication and generosity, including the wonderful St Patrick s Cathedral dedicated to the patron saint of our archdiocese. Thanks to our junior classes who helped us celebrate a little of our Irish history and culture yesterday. St Gabriel s Parish Church: The Way of the Cross Fridays during Lent at 7.00pm This Friday at 7.00pm our students will be leading the Way of the Cross. This holy prayer helps us stop and reflect on what Jesus sacrificed for us on his way to Calvary and death on the Cross. If you can t join us this Friday please make a date in your diary to join the parish over the next Fridays evenings leading up to Holy Week especially Good Friday. A Day for Fathers - The Challenge of Fatherhood Today Saturday 21 st March 9 am to 3 pm Thomas Carr Centre, 278 Victoria Parade East Melbourne. A day sponsored by the Melbourne Archdiocese Office of Marriage and Family. Saturday March 21, 9 am to 3 pm. Thomas Carr Centre, 278 Victoria Parade East Melbourne. Mem Fox, Anne Bayetto, Gary Wilson and Sally Rippon (all well-known authors) will be giving sessions on developing reading skills and nurturing a desire to read. Family Centred Classroom Practices 13 th of March Mrs Judy Doyle and I were lucky enough to participate in the Family Centred Classroom Practices (FCCP). The FCCP is a learning program, which increases knowledge for teachers to assist in improving students learning through the active engagement of families within and beyond the classroom. Judy and I will be working with four other schools near the Reservoir area. During our cluster meeting we will be discussing and planning ways to engage and support families in their children s learning.
