MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF SCHOOL TRUSTEES BAUGO COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BAUGO TOWNSHIP ELKHART, INDIANA The Board of School Trustees of the Baugo Community Schools met in regular session on September 8, at 7:00 p.m. at Baugo Educational Service Center. Board members present were Mr. David Polston, Mr. Edward Collins, Ms. Julie Phillips and Mr. Edward Fisher. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mr. Polston, Board President. 2. Minutes Upon a motion by Mr. Fisher and seconded by Mr. Collins the board approved the minutes of the August 25, regular board meeting. The motion carried 4-0. 3. Additions or Corrections to the Agenda A. Add (1) family medical leave (certified staff member) to Item -09-08-06 Personnel/Human Resources. 4. Old Business There was no old business. 5. Superintendent s Report Gene Sweeney reported the following: - Presented the board with General Obligation Bond Expenditure spreadsheet and 12 Year Roof Maintenance Budget. Carol Deak, Director of Curriculum reported the following: - Testing has begun for Acuity, Dibels and M Class. - Data teams are entering Phase II the data project. - Certified Learning completely implemented. - Wilson Reading training on campus for K-6 teachers this week and next. - HEA/PAX training for K-2 teachers will be complete by the end of October. Nate Dean, Athletic Director reported: - Fall Sports are off to a great start. - New scoreboards for the Jimtown High School Cook Court gymnasium arrived Friday, September 5,.

- New bleachers have been ordered to replace out of code bleachers. - 2013-14 Jimtown High School Athletic Department financial statement included in monthly update. Mr. Perry, Director of Finance reported the following: - No fund balances to report. - Teacher contracts have been distributed for signatures. ECA contracts will be distributed soon. - 2015 budget discussion. - ADM (student) count due this week. - Discussion regarding mortgage bond refinancing. Mr. DuBois, Superintendent reported: - PBiS consultant to assist Jimtown Junior High staff and faculty with classroom management, culture sensitivity training, etc. The OLWEUS bullying program is being investigated in addition to PBiS program currently in place. 6. Board Discussion Items There were no discussion items. 7. New Business - Action Items -09-08-01: Approve -15 Teacher Contractual Agreement Mr. DuBois asked the board to approve the -15 Contractual Agreement. A motion was made by Ms. Phillips and seconded by Mr. Fisher to approve the -15 Teacher Contractual Agreement. The motion carried 4-0. -09-08-02: 2015 Budget Hearing Ms. Perry explained to the audience that the budget was advertised in the Elkhart Truth and Goshen News on Thursday, August 28, and Thursday, September 4,. Mr. Polston then opened the floor for any discussions on the budget. There was no discussion. Mr. Polston then closed the floor for discussion. Mr. Perry stated that the budget will be presented to the board for approval on September 22,. -09-08-03: Approve Donation of Bleachers Mr. Perry asked the board to approve the donation of old Jimtown bleachers to Baugo Little League A motion was made by Ms. Phillips and seconded by Mr. Collins to approve the donation of bleachers to Baugo Little League. The motion carried 4-0.

-09-08-04: Approve -15 Athletic Training Agreement with OSMC Mr. Dean asked the board to approve the -15 Athletic Training Agreement with OSMC. A motion was made by Mr. Fisher and seconded by Mr. Collins to approve the Athletic Trainng Agreement with OSMC. The motion carried 4-0. -08-11-06: Approve Personnel/Human Resources Mr. DuBois asked the board to approve the following personnel/human resources: Family Medical Leaves: 1. There was one certified FMLA.

Transfers: There were no transfers. Resignations/Terminations: 1. Approve the resignation of Jennifer Kerrn as Jimtown High School National Honor Society Advisor. 2. Approve the resignation of Brian Nicholls as Jimtown Junior High School Math Teacher and Math Academic Team Coach. 3. Approve the resignation of Barbara Brown as Jimtown Intermediate School SOI Aide, effective September 24,. 4. Approve the resignation of Joel Sienicki as Jimtown High School 9 th Grade Boys Basketball Coach. Hirings: 1. Approve Clint Stickel as Jimtown High School National Honor Society Advisor. The motion carried 4-0. 8. Announcements Mr. DuBois announced the next board meeting will be Monday, September 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the Baugo Educational Service Center. 9. Claims There are no claims to report. 10. Other Business There was no other business. 11.
