The NEET scorecard forms the basis for allotting about 94,000 medical seats across the country. NEET exam is a gateway for admissions into medical & dental UG courses offered by various government and private medical colleges of the country. From the year 2016 onwards, AIPMT exam has been replaced by NEET examination. All medical institutions consider NEET score for providing admission in MBBS/BDS courses. NEET EXAM PATTERN The exam will comprise of 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided at the test center. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks. Candidates seeking admission into technical institutions like National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and reputed tech institutions across the country have to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). JEE is constituted by two different examinations JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The exams are of objective pattern. JEE Advanced is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests. Other institutes like The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology and Indian Institute of Science also make use of JEE to fuel their admission process. JEE Mains, which replaces AIEEE, is for admission to the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and some other colleges designated as "centrally funded technical institutes" (CFTIs).
