Columba Code Awards The Columba Code Awards and Library Awards were presented today at a mini Assembly for staff and students to celebrate a wonderful year together. The Columba Code Awards are presented to a member of each grade who demonstrates respect for themselves, others and their school. The Library Award goes to a student who displays a love of reading in class and borrows regularly from the Library. The Principal s Award, was renamed the Riley Harris Award last year, and goes to a student who is a wonderful role-model to all in leadership and resilience and displays a love of learning. The Grade five students made great hosts and waiters and we thank them for their assistance. What a Feast!! We also farewell Georgie, Rebecca, Megan & Lucy and wish them the best of luck at their new schools. We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful contribution of the eleven families leaving Columba this year. Swimming Sports Many talented swimmers showed their skills and determination during the Columba Swimming Sports last Thursday. Individual scores for each race were tabulated and at Assembly on Friday the Champion Boy and Champion Girl were announced. Congratulations and well done to Josh Collins and Shainia Wlazly on their outstanding performances to be the overall winners! Congratulations to Finn Hower, Caitlin Marson, Liam Bow & Kassy Interlandi on being appointed as our school leaders. We look forward to their leadership and example. Our new leaders duties will continue over into next year! Many thanks and well done to Jason, Wade, Charlotte & Jaimie in their efforts as school leaders. They were a very obliging and good humored group, no job was too big or too small! Playgound Update: Thank you once again to Bron Wallace who organised the program and to the parents who came along to cheer on the swimmers and assist with timing. Congratulations Award Recipients. Installation of the new playground will take place late February 2013. In the meantime, we are very grateful to the Wouters, Squires & Brown Families who all volunteered to level and prepare the ground ready for the installation. Glen Wouters will come in during the holidays to complete the work and we thank him in advance for his efforts on behalf of the school. It s a New Baby! Congratulations to the Jenkins Family on the arrival of their new baby, a son for Howard and Penny and a baby brother to Leilani. God Bless.
