From the Principal s Desk Welcome back to Term 3. As you would know from last term, I was asked by our Director of Schools, Mark Young, if I would be available to return to Quirindi Public School for a short time while procedures were put in place to select another principal. I will be here for the first five weeks of this term. Mr Young met with the selection panel on Tuesday and it has been decided to call for Expressions of Interest to fill the role of Relieving Principal after my proper retirement date at the end of Week 5. Once the Department of Education releases the position, the proper Merit Selection process can begin to select the new principal for Quirindi Public School. It is expected that this will take place later this term with the likelihood of the new principal starting at the beginning of 2019. The relieving principal would remain until the arrival of the permanent principal. Mrs Parker has moved to a school in the Wollongong region as principal. We wish Lucy Scanlon and Luke Sevil all the best as they compete at the State Cross Country Championships at Eastern Creek in Sydney this week. I told the students at Tuesday's Assembly that there will be a number of different Leadership positions being advertised shortly. I am looking forward to students applying for these positions. Last year a number of students did a wonderful job in responsibly carrying out extra leadership positions at our school. Kerry Kurtz Principal Dance Festival Notes for Dance Festival will be going home tomorrow Friday 27 July. Please note: There have been some changes to other years.
