Instructional Areas ONTARIO LANGUAGE MATHEMATICS READING Tests Growth: Language 2-12 ON 2006 Growth: Math K-2 ON 2005 Growth: Math 2-5 ON 2005 Growth: Math 6+ ON 2005 Growth: Reading K-2 ON 2006 Growth: Reading 2-5 ON 2006 Growth: Reading 6+ ON 2006 Standards Ontario Curriculum Language Arts: 2006 Ontario Curriculum Mathematics: 2005 Instructional areas and sub-areas are derived from the structure of state academic standards. The general content areas that appear across grade levels in a set of standards become the instructional areas. Instructional areas are further divided into common instructional sub-areas. Content Specialists align items from the NWEA item bank to these standards.
