The 5 th Research Methodology workshop is specifically focused on multidisciplinary research. Multidisciplinary Research is a unique attempt to mainstream research across disciplines that intertwine the spirit of different disciplines in the pursuit of finding solutions to varied human problems. This one week workshop is designed to facilitate researchers from different parts of India, to deliberate, share experiences and carve out the ways of bringing multidisciplinary research to fore in the centres of higher. The present information age facilitates the collection of data but the main challenge lies in making the data meaningful and purposeful. A scholar, who is well versed with research methods and techniques, could create new knowledge, innovative practice and paradigm which would be more beneficial for the society. Research Methodology provides the scientific basis to analyze problems logically and contextualize the findings. In any field of research, a progressive methodology is mainly used for theoretical analysis of methods applied to field of study.
In multidisciplinary research a number of disciplines are involved in a certain line of inquiry which is specific to a problem or a region. But the individual findings of the disciplines involved are only brought together in a cumulative fashion. Therefore, modern research is tending to be more and more multidisciplinary. Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted. William Bruce Cameron The present workshop is an endeavour in this direction.
