Graduate College Deadlines RCPL Calendar Fall 2016 (Note: Dates and content of Calendar subject to adjustments or refinements) Final Day to File for Admission to Candidacy (form to Graduate College) First Monday in April 2016 (Fall Graduates) Final Day to File for Admission to Candidacy (form to Graduate College) Oct. 3 rd, 2016 o Internal deadline for Candidacy Form to be turned in to Graduate Liaison Sept. 26 th, 2016 Final Day to file for graduation October 1st, 2016 (Apply Online: http://www.ou.edu/content/commencement/apply.html ) Final Day to Request Authority for Thesis/Non-Thesis Dec. 2nd Final Day for Thesis Dec. 9th / Final Day for Non-Thesis Exam Dec.9th / Final Day to Complete General Exam Dec. 9th Final Day to Deposit Thesis in Library Dec. 16 th Internal RCPL Deadlines (FALL 2016 Graduates) RCPL Written Comprehensive Exam will be held for Fall 2016 Graduates on October 24 th 10am RCPL Written Comprehensive Exam will be graded by November 2nd; follow-up materials will be provided to students to complete as needed based on test score. Follow-up materials are required for students that do not pass the written exam. The committee will decide if an assignment such as research on a topic, essay question take-home exam, or other follow-up materials may be completed by the student (3 weeks to complete) to consider for graduation and then to grant authority to schedule oral defense. Five (5) Learning Portfolios are due November 14th by 5 pm to the Graduate Liaison. Follow-up materials to Comprehensive exam, if required, will be due November 18 th. Decision on next steps for those students requiring this step will be made by 3-4 days later. Effective internal RCPL date to Request Authority for (Comp Exam or Thesis option) due November 21st Comprehensive Oral will be held between Nov. 28 th -30th depending on faculty schedules. Final possible day for Oral is Dec. 2nd
