Acting as a single point of contact for the Teaching School Planning and organizing the annual calendar for professional development for the Centre and the Teaching School Alliance in consultation with the Director of Development and Research. Be a pro-active, supportive and helpful first point of contact for all enquiries relating to the Teaching School Support the Head of Teaching School in some aspects of Teaching School work, minute some meetings relating to the Teaching School. Represent the School at School Direct, and similar, recruitment fairs Organise interviews for School Direct and SLE candidates Work for other members of the Teaching School team as directed by the Head of Teaching School Update the Teaching School website promptly and accurately Track all teaching school work and liaise with the finance team to ensure work is invoiced appropriately and in a timely manner. Playing a frontline role in organising visits to the Development & Research Centre. Working within and improving the quality assurance framework in consultation with the Director of the Centre to monitor the effectiveness and quality of the programmes being delivered. Responsibility for the effective timetabling of Teaching School activity. Communicate with all Alliance Schools and Strategic Partners as directed by the Head of Teaching School. Arrange programmes for visitors to the School, including lesson observations and meetings, briefing and welcoming. Update and track the UCAS portal regularly Liaise with HEI colleagues re recruitment and funding changes this will require attendance at Initial Teacher Training and School Direct briefings Responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of grant funding in liaison with the financial manager Working with the relevant staff - to design, develop and distribute publicity and promotional material for the Teaching School and its activities in consultation with the Director. This is to include brochures, flyers, event publicity, training manuals and any other relevant educational materials Developing the DRC website to support the communication and dissemination across the alliance. Providing the Director and other senior colleagues with reports on project development relating to grant funded activity. Undertaking any other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the role. Person Specification Essential: A Levels or equivalent experience administrative experience in a demanding environment previous PA experience / experience of supporting senior managers in respect of their responsibilities previous experience of event organisation excellent planning and organisational skills ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines ability to organise own workload, prioritise effectively and deal with several important tasks at any one time excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently, intelligently and effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of stakeholders (alliance schools, strategic partners, general public) excellent all-round administrative skills, including the ability to evaluate and contribute to the continual improvement of systems ability to work calmly and productively in a demanding environment day to day problem solving skills and the ability to use own iniative strong ICT skills including Microsoft suite of programs accuracy and excellent attention to detail; excellent literacy and numeracy skills commitment to the vision and aims of the Teaching School proactive, supportive, helpful enthusiastic and positive high personal standards of performance; takes pride in own work Desirable qualified to degree level further relevant professional qualification knowledge of how National Teaching Schools work 2
