Page 3 No School Buses Mortlake College is having a pupil free day on Monday 20th November. There will be no buses running on this day. Choir and Christmas Parade Mortlake Lions Club are again hosting the Christmas Parade and carols at Market Square on Friday 15th December. Children are invited to represent St Colman's and spread the Christmas cheer. Foundation to Year 2 Excursion This year the students will be travelling to Halls Gap and visiting the Halls Gap Zoo. This will be on Friday 8th December and will be longer than a normal school day in preparation for future camps. If any parents would like to come and help on the day please contact the classroom teachers. T20 Blast Cricket The Grade 5&6 students are competing in the Milo T20 cricket competition tomorrow Tuesday 7th of November. We have entered a boys and girls team in the competition and we are looking forward to the day. Students will wear their sport uniforms and will need to bring their own food and drink for the day. Melbourne Cup We will enjoy the running of the Melbourne Cup tomorrow by gathering in our own rooms and holding cup sweeps. These do not need any money as we provide the prizes for the day. Parents are most welcome to join us to watch the event at 3pm before the children are dismissed. Nude Food Day Next Monday the 13th of November will be Nude Food day at St Colman s. We are encouraging families to bring only healthy, environmentally friendly food rather than processed foods with wrappers that will become land fill. This is not school policy but a learning opportunity for children so select and enjoy healthy options. 12th November Natalie Wallace-Lamont
Page 4 NEWS Soon Chocolate Drive After the races we now have only 2 additional boxes of chocolates in the office to be sold so if you feel you are able to help, please feel free to take one. Mortlake Races The fundraising effort at the Mortlake races on Saturday was a resounding success. We had tremendous support for the day with most families either providing food to sell, helping to set up on Friday, working at the event on Saturday or packing up Sunday morning and we thank them all. There were particular parents who gave an enormous amount of time and energy to ensure this was a success for the P&F association and the school recognises this and is very grateful. We are hoping to have made around $1500 once expenses have been settled. Christmas Parade The Mortlake Lions Club Christmas Parade on Friday 15th December will provide another opportunity for us to raise funds for the school. Further details of this will be provided after the next P&F meeting. Christmas Hamper Our final fundraiser each year is the Christmas hamper raffle. Further details of this will be provided after the next P&F meeting.
