Guide to the Gender Equality Game
Welcome to your guide to using the Gender Equality Game. This guide is primarily aimed at those who will be using the game as part of the Gender Equality workshop but also works as a reference tool if anything about navigating the game is unclear. When introducing the game as part of the workshop, you can choose to use the tool in one of three ways. 1. Ask learners to complete the game as an individual activity, bringing the group back together at the end to discuss how they got on. 2. Ask learners to complete the game in small groups of up to 4 people, getting them to discuss and debate their ingame choices as they go and make collective decisions about how to proceed. Plenary discussion after playing the game can revolve around not only the content but how they got on making decisions where other people had to be persuaded or convinced of a certain approach. 3. If your workshop group is not too large, you can run the game for the whole group, asking learners to debate each decision and following the talking points for plenary discussion mentioned above. The guide is laid out as a series of screenshots that take you from start to finish and often shows the correct answers to the questions. For this reason, we advise you not to share the guide with your learners, or at least not until they ve had a chance to play it first. Enjoy!
