Page 1 To log into Tk20, go to the St. Thomas home page at www.stthomas.edu Next, click on the Quick Links found on the top menu. Click on Tk20 University Assessment. Type in your UST username and password. Next, click on Log into your account.

Page 2 Step 1: Make sure you have Institutional Planner selected as your role. Click on your name, found in the upper right hand corner, next click on the drop down box and select Institutional Planner. You will see the message, Are you sure you would like to change your role? Click on OK. Step 2: Select Planning on the side menu. Step 3: Click on Assessment Planning located in the menu at the top.

Page 3 Next, click on Assessment Planning found under the top menu. Next, click on Plan Data Entry. Step 4: For the Organization, select the department or program, depending on what level you enter your assessment information. Select the Assessment Period for the appropriate academic year.

Page 4 Step 5. Click on the goal/outcome/objective for which you want to enter data. This will open the Measures and Results tab where you will enter measures, targets and results for the selected goal/outcome/objective. Step 6: Measures and Results Tab. Click on the radio button to indicate whether the goal/outcome/objective was met, partially met, or not met. The Measures and Results text box has rich text formatting available. Click on Rich Text Formatting (blue text found on the upper right hand corner of the text box) to show the formatting options. After clicking on Rich Text Formatting, a few copy and paste options are available. If you are pasting from Microsoft Word, click on the Paste from Word icon. Text and formatting from Word will be copied into the text box. Paste Paste as plain text Paste from Word

Page 5 Measures. Enter a brief description of what tool(s) you are using to measure the objective (senior paper rubrics, pretest/post-test etc.) and what is your target or goal. Results. Results may include test scores, rubric scores, survey results, etc. Enter sufficient detail about the results of your assessment, including a comparison of the results to the target. Toward the bottom of the Measures tab is a section to upload files containing assessment results, student examples, or the rubric used for assessment. If you would like to upload a file, click on Select File to upload the file. You may upload multiple files. IMPORTANT: Data Collection Status Once you have completed entering your data make sure to select Yes for the question Is data collection complete?.

Page 6 Step 7: Select the Actions Tab. Enter how the information gained from assessment will be used to improve student learning. Answering the question will be required for each student learning outcome assessed during the academic year. Even if the outcome is met, a description of how assessment results are used to improve student learning is required. An example of an action to take when a goal has been met could be to raise the target or threshold. Note: Information entered on the Actions tab will be displayed on the Unit Dashboard. When you have completed entering your Actions please select yes in the Data collection status area. When you are done entering your data, select Save. You can save at any point in your process and access the information later to complete it. Note: You only need to enter information for the outcomes/goals/objectives that you assessed during the assessment period. When you are finished entering results, it is OK to have the message for the goals/outcomes/objectives that you did not assess during the assessment period.

Page 7 Step 8: Review completed assessment report on the Unit Dashboard. On the Assessment Planning menu, click on Unit Dashboard. If you see your screen highlighted in red, then you did not select yes for Is data collection complete for at least one of the tabs on the Plan Data Entry screen (See step 10 to learn how to remove the red highlight). Click on the department or program name to review the information that has been entered. An overview of your assessment report will be displayed. Click on the Close button at the bottom of the window to close the window.

Page 8 Step 10: If you need to remove the red highlight on the Unit Dashboard, click on the Assessment Planning drop down located in the horizontal menu at the top. Next, click on Assessment Planning found under the top menu. Next, click on Plan Data Entry. Select a goal/outcome/objective.

Page 9 Go to the bottom of the window for each tab and make sure you selected yes for Is data collection complete. Then click Save at the bottom of the window. Repeat for each goal/outcome/objective.
