Date of my first appointment by the same was on 1 st October, 1990 as an assistant lecture. (a) Lecturing in Quantitative Skills Department. (b) Giving guidance, advice and examining students project papers in the course. (c) Carrying out research on topical issues in matters of population and any other related field, which requires statistical input in the analysis, and interpretation of results. (d) Offering anthropology approach with statistical overtone. (e) Teaching M.Phil students Advance Research Methodology (Statistical Application). EDUCATION, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS (a) Attended Misambi Primary School from 1967 to 1972. Attended also Oriang Primary School in 1973 and sat for C.P.E. in the same year. (b) Attended Nyanxa Christian College for Secondary Education from 1974 to 1977 and sat for East Africa Certificate of Education which I passed. (c) Attended Kitui High School for East Africa Advanced Certificate of Education from 1978 to 1979 and obtained principal passes in Maths, Biology and Geography. (d) Joined Kenyatta University in 1980 and pursued a course in Mathematics (statistics) and Education graduating with B.Ed(Sc) Upper Second Class honours of the University of Nairobi in 1984. (e) Pursued a Master of Science degree in Population Studies and Research at the University of Nairobi from 1986 t 1988 graduating with M. Sc. Degree in 1990 after having successfully defended my thesis. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
(a) Taught as a UT at Nduru Primary School from March, 1980 to September of the same year. (b) Taught at Gesum High School from July, 1984 to March, 1986 in the discipline of mathematics and Biology. For these periods I was the Head of Biology Department. ( c) Appointed Acting Headmaster of Nyamusi Harambee Secondary School from April, 1986 to October of the same year before leaving for the University of Nairobi to pursue a M. Sc. Degree. (d) Taught Mathematics and Biology at mugunga High School from August 1988 to April, 1990. (e) Joined Moi University in October, 1990 as an assistant lecture add was promoted to my present status in November, 1991. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE (a) Appointed Head of Quantitative & Entrepreneurship Studies (October 2003 to Date) (b) For the fulfillment of Ms. Degree course in Demography of the University of Nairobi, I was required to carry out a research in issues pertaining to population for one full academic year. My research was on fertility in Kenya based on Birth Internal Analysis. Seven major tribes were considered (Gikuyu, Luhya, Kamba Kisii, Kalenjin and Mijikenda) in this study. Respondents were picked using random sample method. (c ) I was contracted by the institute of Population Studies and Research between May and September 1990 on temporary terms as research assistant. My duties were to code, clean, and analyze data and write up integrating population Education with family life to the Ministry of Culture and Social Services and also to the Ministry of Agriculture. d) Between August and September 1990 jointly with Professor J.J. Okumu of Moi University carried out a study on the capacity and capability of local and foreign owned consultant firms in Kenya and also the adverse effect of Consultancy on academic development at Institutions of higher learning in Kenya for NORAD. e) Between 1992 and 1993 as a team in the Department of Quantitative Skills carried out need assessment among University Students, staffs and the Western Kenya Region on Entrepreneurship Education for small Business culminating into its full launch as a teaching course to third years in Moi University in 1993/94 academic year. f) In 1995, I carried out an independent study on Causes for loan Default with Kenya Industrial Estates loan Beneficiaries in Eldoret Town. SEMINARS/CONFERENCES a) I presented a paper on integration of family planning with family life Education in September 1990 at Silver Springs Hotel in Nairobi to the Ministry of Culture and Social Services and Ministry of Agriculture. b) In December 1994, I participated in the revision of Entrepreneurship Education Curriculum for the University at Garden Hotel Machakos Organized by International Labour Organization (I.L.O.)
