GR-RRR8 R Wichita Pontiac Club s Monthly Publication February 2016
Being President of a Car Club was not on my Bucket List - but here I am! I look forward to this adventure as the first female president of the Wichita Pontiac Club and to the first time of having our Uprising in Great Bend. We have great people in the Club that keep it running smooth. And I want to keep it that way. After the last meeting I heard a lot of suggestions and hope to implement them. As always we need articles for the newsletter. My first request as president is that we all take pictures of our personalized tags and send them to the editor at WichitaGTO@gmail.com for the March newsletter. Next meeting will be at Gary G. on Saturday, February 20. 25 Willowbrook, Wichita, Ks. 67207 beginning at 2:00 P.M. See you there.
Mike & I had a meeting with the City of Great Bend Administrator on the 5th. Got allot of great information. Think they are going to give the club allot of help. The Friday night get together will actually be in the Great Bend Convention Center. Think we will list two Hotels even, because the Holiday Inn is brand new, in fact it won't even be open until next month. Now remember all of this is right on the Main Street within of couple blocks to anywhere. The track will open Friday night for any one to go ahead and park their trailer out there. And it is even closer to Great Bend than the Wichita track is Wichita. More at the meeting see you at Gary's!!
The January 16, 2016 meeting was held at Scotch and Sirloin with 20 members and spouses present. First order of business was Club dues. We had discussed reducing them to $25 from the current $35, since we don't have the postage expense and that was part of the dues. Mike C. made motion to reduce dues to $25, Dan J. seconded, motion carried. While on the newsletter, Nicole has agreed to be editor again and will accept $1,000 in one lump sum instead of the quarterly payments of $500. Mike C. made motion to make one payment, Pat N. seconded, motion carried. Next order of business is Elections. Treasurer, Gary G. will remain in that office, show of hands, carried. Secretary - Dan J. nominated Pat N. Ron S. seconded, carried. President - Ron S. nominated Rita J. Dan J. seconded, motion carried. Vice President - Dave C. will continue, show of hands, carried. Other business-- Advertising in CARS magazine. Price raised, Les contacted officers and all agreed that we did not need to cancel ad. Ron S. made motion that we pay the $350 for ad, Jim H. seconded, motion carried. Also on advertising - Robb N. father had a TV station in Wichita and is online in Western Kansas to include Great Bend. Prices are good and would need someone to do an interview for the Uprising. Gary G. stated we have videos of past Uprisings that could be used. Dan J. will get with the TV station and work on this. Great Bend Track -- club will need to provide personnel for the gate, track will do Tech. There are two big buildings that are big enough for a Car Show, that would be opened up if the weather got bad. Mike C. is waiting to hear when we can go out and meet with them to go over some of the particulars. February meeting will be at Gary G. on the 21.
