Mahila PG College, Mainpuri on 19 May 2015 Dr. Amit Chaturvedi, Regional Director visited IGNOU Study Centre- 47037, Kr. R. C. Mahila PG College, Mainpuri along with Dr. Bhanu Pratap and M. R. Faisal Assistant Regional Directors for the inauguration of newly established IGNOU Regular Study Centre on 19 th May 2015. Mr. Tej Pratap Yadav, Hon ble Member of Parliament, Mainpuri was a Chief Guest. Dr. K. N. Singh, Registrar, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra and Dr. Amit Chaturvedi, Regional Director were the Guest of Honour. Mr. Tej Pratap Yadav, Hon ble Member of Parliament, Mainpuri has inaugurated the IGNOU Study Centre by cutting the red ribbon and blessed the Principal, Faculty Members, Members of the Management Committee of the college and students present on the occasion of Inauguration. The Coordinator of the Study Centre has welcomed the dignitaries and honoured them by giving the bouquet to the dignitaries sitting on the dice. Dr. Amit Chaturvedi explained on structural as well as functional system of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and informed the august gathering about the IGNOU programmes offered by the Regional Centre Aligarh. Audiences were also informed in detail about the various Student Support Services that the Regional Centre offers to the learners. Mr. Tej Pratap Yadav, Hon ble Member of Parliament of Mainpuri blessed the students and dignitaries invited by the college authorities. He explained that IGNOU is the largest Open University in the World. The courses and programmes of IGNOU is well recognized and at par with the programmes of other universities. Member of Parliament has shown his willingness to activate all the Home Science based programmes such as MSCDFSM and Computer programmes for the computer literacy of rural area. Dr. K. N. Singh, Registrar, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Agra has also conveyed his wishes to the college administration for the establishment of IGNOU Regular Study Centre.
On this occasion Dr. Bhanu Pratap and Dr. M. R. Faisal, ARDs informed the students about the flexibility and openness offered by the IGNOU programmes and also informed the students about the modality of submission of assignment and IGNOU s examination system. After the programme, we also interacted with the media persons and emphasized the need to give wide publicity for the admission for session commencing from July 2015. In the press conference Coordinator of SC- 47037, Principal, Teachers and media persons were present. On this occasion Dr. Sushila Tyagi, Director of the college, Dr. Alka Pathak, Sri R. B. Singh, Sri Gautam Shah, Sri Anil Mishra, Dr. Madhu Gupta, Dr. Shaifali Yadav, Dr. Kirti Jain, Dr. Neelam Shakya, Dr. Vibha Jain and other Dignitaries were present on the inaugural ceremony of the Study Centre. The programme was conducted by Dr. Kanchan Maheshwari. Finally, the programme was ended with the vote of thank proposed by Dr. Usha Agrawal, Principal of the college. She assured us to provide all requisite facilities to IGNOU Study Centre as per the norms of the University. The photographs and press clippings are enclosed along with the report.
