newsletter ILLAWARRA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL CORDEAUX TERM 1 WEEK 9 1ST APRIL 2016 A message from Mrs Story Romans 12:4-5 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Our annual Fete provides one of the best occasions we have each year for coming together as a community, using and celebrating our diverse gifts, and generally having a great time! It s also a wonderful occasion, for folk who have had little or nothing to do with our school, to share in the ICS experience en masse. This always includes prospective families who are considering enrolling their children at our campus. They are able to see the quality of learning that is taking place in our classrooms, some of the enriching experiences from which our students benefit, and their skills on display - and all in the visible context of a joyful, active parent/school partnership. Thanks to all who have already sent in donations, worked to plan for a successful Fete, volunteered for stalls and provided practical help. Please encourage your friends and neighbours to come along tomorrow to share the celebrations. Fete Cake Stall Just a reminder to bake for the Fete tomorrow. You would have received the cellophane home via your child. We appreciate your home cooking and look forward to receiving it today at the office or on Saturday at the stall. School Car park Please do not drive into the school car park unless you have prior permission from the school principal or are a prep parent. When parking on the school premises please do not double park and please park wholly within the spaces provided. We know our parking facilities are limited and we thank you for your cooperation. PRAYER & PRAISE PRAYER & PRAISE "You are my God; teach me to do your will. Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path." Psalm 143:10 Give thanks for all the volunteers in our school community. The foundation we are partnering with is called Love Mercy. For the last 5 years, Love Mercy has built a level 3 Health Clinic in Northern Uganda which treats patients in remote villages for lifethreatening illnesses such as malaria and typhoid. They are seeking to add on a maternity ward to this facility in 2017. Students participating in the cross country are encouraged to find sponsors for their run; they can donate easily online. To donate to a specific runner or to the entire ICS team, head to http:// lovemercyfoundation-org.mycms.me/ home. Search for the ICS team, and click Sponsor Now. There will also be a sausage sizzle for K-12 students held at Cordeaux at lunchtime on Friday the 8th of April, with all money going to Love Mercy. Please join us to support this great cause.
