We were treated to a highly stimulating two days of learning and development. We are now taking on board the Pos Ed philosophy LEARN IT, LIVE IT, TEACH IT, EMBED IT We are excited about the journey ahead and the possibilities it opens up for our whole school community. Thank you to our volunteer Treasures for all of their hard work.

ANNIVERSARY OF THE AVENUE OF HONOUR On Saturday August 11 th with the support of the community, Bacchus Marsh RSL commemorated the 100 year anniversary of the planting of the Avenue of Honour trees. Thank you very much to all of the BMPS families who accompanied their children and placed a wreath on a tree. Thanks are also extended to Mrs Love and our students who turned their ideas for commemorating all of the district s WW1 soldiers who are not recognised in the Avenue into designs that one day might come to life. These are on display for the community to view at the Lerderderg Library. To further commemorate the centenary of the Avenue all of our students have written a piece describing their life in 2018 and capturing their wonderings regarding life in 2118. With Mrs Love s passion and support we look forward to the publication of these pieces of writing by our students.

SCIENCE WEEK Science week 2018 Change Makers was a fabulous success with a record number of Science Fair entries and a smorgasbord of opportunities for our students to sample. The opening of our Food For Thought Café was a highlight. Thank you to Mrs McWhinney, Green Team and Science Captains for your hard work.

WELCOME TO OUR 2018 EXCHANGE TEACHERS Last Tuesday our Exchange Teachers arrived in Australia. Xiao Likou is a Physical Education Teacher and Cao Yanfang teaches Science. We are very much enjoying having them in our school and one of their most treasured memories so far was a trip to the Great Ocean Road. PARENT OPINION SURVEY We take the opportunity to again remind parents that the 2018 Parent Opinion Survey is currently open and around 30 per cent of parents will have been invited to participate via email in this year s survey. All responses are anonymous and the survey will be open until Sunday 26 th August. It only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September. Thankyou in advance for taking the time to provide feedback that is highly valued and used to inform continuous improvement at Bacchus Marsh Primary School. 2019 ENROLMENTS We encourage all families with a Prep student starting in 2019 to ensure you have an enrolment in at your earliest opportunity.
