NOTES: POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH PROGRAMMES TUITION FEES 2019/20 Tuition fees given below are at the full-time rate. The part-time fee rate for research postgraduate programmes is 50% of the relevant full-time fee rate for Home/EU/RUK student; for Overseas students the part-time fee rate for research postgraduate programmes is 50% of the relevant full-time Overseas rate. From 2014/15, the University introduced a fixed fee structure for undergraduate and postgraduate research students who are classed as Overseas for fee purposes. This means that research students classed as Overseas for fee purposes who commence study in 2019/20, i.e. from 1 August 2019, will continue to be charged the 2019/20 fee rate for the remainder of their programme. Overseas students who started before 1 August 2019 will continue to pay the appropriate fee rate for the academic year in which they first registered. Overseas students who started before 1 August 2014 will continue to pay the appropriate 2014/15 fee. These rates apply in 2019/20 (from 1 August 2019 onwards). In line with other universities, tuition fees are subject to annual review and the University reserves the right to increase these from year to year. Students who are not on a fixed fee rate programme should budget for an increase of between 5% and 9% per annum. From 2017/18, the research student fee rate for UK/EU/RUK students was linked to the Research Council (UKRI) fee rate. For 2018/19, the Research Council fee rate was 4,260. All students are encouraged to read the University Refund Policy. The Refund Policy will confirm fee liability in the event a student withdraws during the academic year.
