RECORD OF BOARD PROCEEDINGS (MINUTES) UNOFFICIAL The Paris Independent Paris, Ky., July 17, 2013 Board of Education met at CO Conference Rm at 5:00 o'clock P. M., on the 16th day of July, 2013, with the following members present: (1) Mr. Tucker (2) Mrs. Shepherd (3) Mr. Johnson (4) Ms. Fields (5) Mr. Mathes The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Michael Tucker. Roll call found all members present. Motion #130716-01 Approve Minutes It was moved by Mr. Mathes and seconded by Mr. Johnson to approve the minutes of the called meeting for end of year business held on June 27, 2013. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion #130716-02 Approve Agenda It was moved by Ms. Fields and seconded by Mr. Johnson to approve the agenda as presented. OLD BUSINESS - None NEW BUSINESS REGULAR MEETING Motion #130716-05 Approve Revision to Performance Bond for Account Clerk

It was moved by Mrs. Shepherd and seconded by Ms. Fields to approve the revision to the amount of the performance bond for the Account Clerk from $100,000 to $150,000 per the Kentucky Department of Education. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion #130716-06 Approve Purchase of Cameras for Buses After discussion, it was moved by Mr. Mathes and seconded by Mr. Johnson to approve the purchase and installation of cameras for all six (6) school buses for the total amount of $11,259.24. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion # 130716-07 Approve Base Bid For Floor Finishes at Paris Elementary School It was moved by Ms. Fields and seconded by Mr. Mathes to accept the bid by Coleman Contracting to replace floor finishes at Paris Elementary School for the amount of $25,354.00 and to submit a revised BG-1 to reflect current project values. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion # 130716-08 Approve VCT and Carpet Replacement at Paris Elementary School It was moved by Mr. Mathes and seconded by Mrs. Shepherd to approve the replacement of VCT and carpet in the teacher workroom at Paris Elementary School with new VCT using contract unit pricing at a total added cost of $4,231.20 and to use project contingency funds to cover the costs. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion # 130716-09 Approve Change Order on Paris Elementary Project It was moved by Ms. Fields and seconded by Mrs. Shepherd to approve the change order on the Paris Elementary door hardware project by adding four (4) keypad electronic locks with proximity card readers to the purchase order with Door Shop for an additional cost of $3,740.00 and to use available project contingency funds to cover cost. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion # 130716-10 Approve Additional Change Order on PES Project It was moved by Mr. Mathes and seconded by Ms. Fields to approve the addition of installation of four (4) electronic locks to the contract with Greer Construction for an additional cost of $6,400.00 and to use available project contingency funds to cover cost. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried.

Motion # 130716-11 Approve to Surplus Equipment It was moved by Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Shepherd to approve for surplus, the attached list of equipment. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. Motion # 130716-12 Approve Student Code of Conduct It was moved by Mrs. Shepherd and seconded by Mr. Johnson to approve the Student Code of Conduct and the Employee Handbook for the 2013-2014 school year. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried. There was a discussion and review of the activities scheduled for the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. Motion # 130716-13 Approve Fund Raiser Requests It was moved by Mrs. Shepherd and seconded by Ms. Fields to approve the following fund raiser requests: - Paris Elementary PTO to sell cookie dough, Paris t-shirts and host the annual Fall Carnival to raise funds for classroom equipment and supplies; - Paris High School Junior Class to sell Yankee Candles to raise funds for prom expenses; - Paris High School Cross Country Team to participate in a trash pickup through the Bourbon County Transportation Department to raise funds for team fees and expenses; - Paris Boys and Girls Golf Teams to host a golf scramble at Houston Oaks Golf Course to raise funds for team expenses. Upon a vote being taken, the results were as follows: Aye: Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Fields and Mr. Mathes Nay: None. The motion carried.
