Math 7 This is a two-semester course that will help you build a solid foundation for high school math by studying topics such as pre-algebra and pre-geometry concepts, along with reinforcing basic math operations. You will have step-by-step explanations, helpful illustrations, examples, and activities to help your understanding. Course Highlights 1. Keep up with your daily lesson plan. If you fall a day behind, work extra hard to catch up the next day or if you know you will be gone you can work ahead of the schedule. 2. In this course, there is one project in unit 2 (Chef for a Day) and one in Unit 8 (Inscribed Polygons). The Inscribed Polygons project will require a protractor, compass and a straight edge. These projects may take extra time to complete and must be submitted before the unit tests will be unblocked. Rubric for Inscribed Polygons is on Page 6. Each unit contains a Glossary and Credits section with important formulas and definitions. This is a useful section to read and study. Study guides, solution keys, and help videos can be found in the AOA Virtual Campus Resource Center ( http://www.aoacademy.com/kb/?c=120). Watch for online classrooms that cover topics in this course. Attend any sessions you are able to fit into your schedule. An online classroom schedule is sent via email each week. This email contains information on the online classrooms offered, the date and time they are available, and how to connect. Assignment Weighting per Unit Lessons: 10% Quizzes: 20% Projects: 40% Tests: 30% Academic Policies Projects will be graded in the order that they are received. All projects within a unit must be completed prior to the test being unblocked. You may ask for an alternate test to be assigned. This will be averaged with the original test score. 1
