The evening was not just full of good food and fun games, but it showed our students the commitment we have towards promoting literacy in a fun and engaging way. It was great to see all of the interactions and laughter at the tables. Thank you so much for coming! Looking forward to February there are a few more opportunities for families to get involved with the school. We have been working very hard on promoting healthy relationships and on February 17 we will once again be a part of Pink Shirt Day. Throughout the years Pink Shirt Day has been celebrated to reinforce that in order to change the culture around bullying we must all work together. Then, after the break on February 27 th our annual Read to Ride kickoff will take place, however this year it will look a little different. Instead of Read to Ride it will be Mary s Math Movement. This change was made to follow both the Division and School directed Math initiatives. Information and log sheets will be sent home so please make the commitment as a family to get involved with Math each and every day. February also marks the start of the season of Lent. We begin with our school-wide breakfast on Shove Tuesday, February the 28 th and then on March 1 th the school celebrates Ash Wednesday with Sacred Heart at Church of Our Lady in the afternoon. I would like to invite and encourage everyone to come get involved and share in our Lenten preparations. Sincerely, Justin Clewis St. Mary Math Movement ballots will be sent home after our February break. Please stay in touch. Keep checking our website and Facebook as we will be posting more exciting stuff happening this month. Reminder!!!! Grade 8 Farewell Photos Wed. Feb. 15@10AM

The color code system for cold weather works as follows: GREEN used when the temperature is LOWER THAN -25 C (including wind chill) Students may come into their classrooms in the morning and at noon.
