To give an overview on various structural and non structural measures for preparedness and damage mitigation. To provide knowledge on role of remote sensing and GIS in disaster management. To develop administrative capabilities to plan and implement preparedness and mitigation strategies. To discuss about instant rescue and relief operations, medical and paramedical attention etc. during flood and earthquake disasters. Other issues pertaining to disaster management.
