TEZPUR UNIVERSITY Centre for Disaster Management Napaam, Tezpur 784 028, Sonitpur, Assam The Centre for Disaster Management, Tezpur University in association with District Administration, Nagaon is organizing following training programmes during October November, 2008 under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India and National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi. Schools, Members of NGOs 04 06 November, 2008 Nagaon OBJECTIVES To provide information about flood and earthquake risk of N E India. To give an overview on various structural and non structural measures for preparedness and damage mitigation. To provide knowledge on role of remote sensing and GIS in disaster management. To develop administrative capabilities to plan and implement preparedness and mitigation strategies. To discuss about instant rescue and relief operations, medical and paramedical attention etc. during flood and earthquake disasters. Other issues pertaining to disaster management.
