Looking ahead! Class of 2024 9 th grade is high school! Credits are earned for all courses! Grades count/gpa begins!

Graduation Requirements Class of 2024 Students must earn 26 credits to graduate 4 Credits of English 4 Credits of Math Algebra in 8 th grade counts as an elective credit, not a Math credit. All students must complete Algebra II to graduate. 4 Credits of Science 4 Credits of Social Studies

Graduation Requirements 1 credit of LIFE/PE (1 JROTC may be substituted) ½ credit of Health 1 credit of Career Preparedness 7 ½ credits of electives

8 th Grade Course Options All students choose the following: Language Arts (Meets daily all year.) Math (Meets daily all year.) 8 th Grade Math Algebra (1 high school elective credit) Social Studies (Meets daily for one semester.) Science (Meets daily for one semester.) Fitness For Life (PE) (Meets alternating days (blue or white) all year.)

Math at AJHS 8 th Grade Math For all students in regular 7 th Grade Math at ESS. Algebra For all students in 7 th Grade Accelerated Math at ESS.

Math at AJHS Regular 7 th Grade Math to Algebra Earn a score of 80 or above on the Orleans Hanna Algebra Prognosis Test. Meet two of the following three criteria: Earn an A average in 7 th grade regular math. Earn an SAI score of 120 or above on the OLSAT. Earn 90 or above on the Pre-Algebra End-of-Course Exam. *For students taking Algebra in the 8 th grade, four (4) additional mathematics credits must be earned in grades 9 through 12. *Grades earned prior to the 9 th grade year will not be calculated into the high school Grade Point Average (GPA).
