How to enrol We are happy to accept enrolment applications at any time and welcome girls from any culture and faith tradition. In order to apply for enrolment at Mary MacKillop College, please follow our enrolment process. 1. Application for Enrolment Form Submit the Application for Enrolment Form to the College Registrar. Acknowledge receipt Your application will be acknowledged by our College Registrar accordingly. 3. Enrolment interview Two years prior to the anticipated date of commencement of your daughter, an interview appointment with the Principal or delegate will be made. You will be asked to bring a copy of the following documents to the enrolment interview: latest school report copy of Birth Certificate (or Baptism Certificate) any Court Order or related information regarding custody of child (if applicable) documentation relating to special needs (any reports, action plans, assessments, etc) Visa documents (if applicable). 4. Offer of placement A formal Letter of Offer together with the Enrolment Contract will be sent by the Principal. 5. Acceptance of offer An Acceptance of Offer will need to be confirmed by returning the Enrolment Contract and payment of a non-refundable acceptance fee. 6. Acknowledgement of acceptance Upon processing the Enrolment Contract a formal letter from the Principal will confirm placement for the respective year level and year of commencement. 7. Transition For Year 8 students, you will be contacted in Term 3 in the year prior to commencement regarding the Transition process for incoming students. For other year levels, individual contact will be made regarding subject selection and any other matters outstanding. Privacy Information 1. The College collects personal information, including sensitive information about students and parents or guardians before and during the course of a student s enrolment at the College. This may be in writing or in the course of conversations. The primary purpose of collecting this information is to enable the College to provide education to the students and to enable them to take part in all the activities of the College. 2. Some of the information we collect is to satisfy the College s legal obligations, particularly to enable the College to discharge its duty of care. 3. Laws governing or relating to the operation of a College require certain information to be collected and disclosed. These include relevant Education Acts, and Public Health and Child Protection laws. 4. Health information about students is sensitive information within the terms of the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act. We may ask you to provide medical reports about students from time to time. 5. The College from time to time discloses personal and sensitive information to others for administrative and educational purposes, including to facilitate the transfer of a student to another College. This includes to other Colleges, government departments, the Catholic Education Office, the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools, the College s local diocese and the parish, Colleges within other Dioceses, medical practitioners, and people providing services to the College, including specialist visiting teachers, sports coaches, volunteers and counsellors. 6. Personal information collected from students is regularly disclosed to their parents or guardians. 7. In situations where parents are separated, it is the policy of the College to release College reports to the mother and father of the student upon request. It is also our policy to allow both mother and father to attend parent/teacher interview upon request. However, the College will abide by any court orders which prevent the release of such information. 8. The College may store personal information in the cloud which may mean that it resides on servers which are situated outside Australia. 9. The College s Privacy Policy sets out how parents or students may seek access to personal information collected about them. However, there will be occasions when access is denied. Such occasions would include where access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others, where access may result in a breach of the College s duty of care to the student, or where students have provided information in confidence. 10. The College s Privacy Policy also sets out how you may complain about a breach of privacy and how the College will deal with such a complaint. 11. As you may know the College from time to time engages in fundraising activities. Information received from you may be used to make an appeal to you. It may also be disclosed to organisations that assist in the College s fundraising activities solely for that purpose. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent. 12. On occasions information such as academic and sporting achievements, student activities and similar news is published in College newsletters and magazines and on our website. Photographs of student activities such as sporting events, College camps and College excursions may be taken for publication in College newsletters and magazines and on our website. The College will obtain separate permissions from the students parent or guardian prior to publication. We may include students and students parents contact details in a class list and College directory. 13. If you provide the College with the personal information of others, such as doctors or emergency contacts, we encourage you to inform them that you are disclosing that information to the College and why, that they can access that information if they wish and that the College does not usually disclose this information to third parties. Declaration In enrolling our daughter at, 1. We accept that she will be educated in the Catholic faith within a Christian educational environment. 2. We accept that support of College staff and cooperation concerning College activities is essential. 3. We accept that we will abide by College policies as amended from time to time. 4. We accept that participation in Camps and Retreats is compulsory and that membership in College sporting teams takes priority over competing sports interests. 5. We accept that the College reserves the right to suspend or expel a student for serious or continued breaches of College rules, regulations and/or policies, including conduct which brings into disrepute the good name and reputation of the College. 6. We accept the standards the College sets regarding grooming, uniform and personal presentation. 7. We accept that the College does not accept liability for damage or loss of any personal possessions of students and that insurance for students personal possessions is our responsibility. 8. We agree to pay upon acceptance of offer of placement the non-refundable Acceptance Fee which is current in the year of acceptance. Declaration - Payment of School Fees We jointly and severally accept responsibility for the payment of school fees and other costs associated with the education of our daughter as determined and amended from time to time by the College. We acknowledge that the College reserves the right to pass overdue accounts to a debt collection agency. When this occurs, we acknowledge that personal information will be disclosed to the agency and we will be responsible for the collection costs and legal costs. We give consent for the College to contact any other Catholic and Independent schools which our daughter has attended for the purpose of ascertaining our fee paying record.
