Along with this the children will also be given fruits twice a week and milk twice a day with a protein mix. Clothing:
We follow the policy of giving only new clothes to the children. The reason behind this is that the child should get the feeling of wearing new clothes. Every child gets 6 pairs of new clothes each at the time of admission. Shelter: Bandaru Naveen (IX) As of now the children are in a rented house with all the safety precautions taken care of. The house is spacious enough with four rooms, dining hall, study hall, kitchen and a small play area in front of the house. Education: Home. All the children of Abilashrayam go to Sri Vinayaka Vidya Kendra, which is very nearby to the Health Insurance: We have not got the health insurance done the reason being most of the times the kids suffer with domestic ailments like cough, cold, fever etc which will be treated by the local doctor who doesn t charge consultation, however the medicine will be bought. Miscellaneous Abilashrayam kids have always involved themselves in a very high spirits in terms of participation in extra curricular activities. All kids participated in the cultural event organized by the school. We have a dance teacher coming home to teach the children. E learning is one thing which is very interactive and interesting to these kids. Abilashrayam had organized a Rock Show event on 4 th September 2010, in order to raise funds which was quite successful though it was a first event. A fun filled outing to Nandi Hills was organized on 13 th of November 2010, children enjoyed it. Four kids who were in Abilashrayam family for 2010-2011 had to be discharged for valid reasons. b) Senior Citizen Home The success of Abilashrayam Children Home helped us to see a wider picture in terms of helping the other sector of the under privileged community. We started our Senior Citizen home by taking care of 19 deserving elders whose children had abandoned them with out any support. This is located 160 Kms, from Bangalore the place is called as Diguvapalle, a very remote village in Andhra Pradesh. We provide all the basic facilities like Food, Shelter, Clothing and Health Support for the inmates of Abilashrayam Senior Citizen Home. Senior Citizens We have 19 Senior Citizens who feel that they are quite secure now. Health Check Up
We have taken necessary permissions from government general check up wing to do a check up on the 8 th of every month to assure the health of inmates it good, if any treatment needed necessary measures will be taken immediately to help them recover. Leisure Time However the leisure time of these inmates is spent growing vegetables and taking care of the buffalo which is meant to take care of the milk needs of the home. c) Vidyaa Daanam We have taken an other bold step of helping the underprivileged children by providing learning and educational aids to take care of their uninterrupted studies. We have distributed school kits to close to 1600 children different parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. d) Anna Daanam We are providing mid day meals to 50 underprivileged children located in the same village where we have the Senior Citizen Home, this has brought the children back to school to study other wise they were forced to go to daily labour for one meal. Funding Abilashrayam is self funded for its day to day activities as of now the organization has got few regular donors, so the trustees will be bearing all the expenditure for the operations of the organization until there are donors who come forward to support the growth. We have registered with CC Avenue which works as a payment gate way for the donors who wish to do the online donations. The interest free loans are repaid back to the respective lenders as the trust was able to manage the expenditure. Accounts
Abilashrayam retains the appointment of M/s Venkatesh Bhaskar and Associates as its Chartered Accountants who will be taking care of the accounts. e) Conclusion We have completed two and half years very successfully taking care of 16 children and going forward for the year 2011-2012 we have decided to take in 4 more deserving children and give them all the facilities. In this regard we are on the outlook of searching for deserving children. Abilashrayam what ever has being successfully doing will continue the same and try to serve more people with all the due support of our well wishers and supporters.
