Preference will be given to students who are in the Health Services Academy, have completed all 4 year, and have volunteered for 2 or more Blood Drives. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is based on academic performance, leadership potential, and participation in Health Services Academy including volunteer hours earned with One Blood Drive. Scholarships are awarded annually provided funds are available. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS The Health Services Academy awards scholarships based on a comprehensive process. Areas that are reviewed by the committee include but are not limited to the following: Academic Accomplishments, Community Service with the Blood Drives, References, Personal Essay and Financial Need. The Health Services Academy and One Blood scholarship funds directly to the recipient. Scholarships are awarded on a one-time basis of $500 and are nonrecurring due to limited availability of funds. CRITERIA Applicants must be completing or have completed high school successfully with a minimum weighted GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must have completed the Health Services Academy through level 4: At Deltona High School Applicants must have participated in 2 years: Regional and State Competition at Deltona High School. Applicants must have completed volunteer hours with at least 2 Blood Drives. Applicants must have completed 100 hours of volunteer services Applicants must be accepted as a full-time student at a Technical College, Community College, or 4 year University for the upcoming academic semester. Applicants must complete and submit a Scholarship Application by May 3, 2019. 1
