LONG-STANDING Military Support NEC maintains its founding mission of proudly welcoming students with military service. NEC provides all the financial guidance necessary to help you take full advantage of your military education benefits and special tuition rates to further reduce the cost of education. Active Duty We offer a special undergraduate tuition rate of $750 per 4-credit course for active-duty servicemembers, including selected Reservists and National Guard members, as well as their spouses and dependents. That represents more than 50% savings on tuition. Veterans A 10% tuition savings is available for veterans, Reservists, Guardsmen and their spouses, as well as for dependents of disabled or deceased veterans. If you are independent or your parents cannot get a PLUS loan, you may be eligible to borrow additional Direct Unsubsidized Loan funds. Federal Student Aid The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for federal student aid, such as grants, loans and work-study. Interest-Free Payment Plans There are several interest-free payment options available that separate tuition fees into three payments over each session. Federal Direct Loans Federal Direct Loans must be repaid and are available to those who qualify. If you qualify (based on need) for a Direct Subsidized Loan, the government will pay the interest on your loan while you are in school.
