Important Dates 21 February 2020: Deadline for the receipt of final unit and certification entries by OCR 21 March 2020: Deadline for the receipt of entries by OCR following the January 2020 series 31 March 2020: Deadline for the receipt of coursework marks for visiting moderation 31 March 2020: Deadline for the receipt of coursework marks by the moderator and OCR for GCSE Physical Education 15 2020: Deadline for the receipt of all other coursework marks (including examiner marked coursework) by OCR 19 August 2020: Restricted release of results for above listed qualifications to centres only 20 August 2020: Release of results for above listed qualifications to candidates Provisional version of the timetable The final version of the timetable will be published in 2019. Centres must ensure that candidates take OCR s examinations at the times indicated on the timetable. In notifying candidates of the dates and times of their examinations, centres must not place reliance upon the provisional timetable which is provided for the purpose of consultation only. Contingency day The awarding bodies have designated 24 2020 as a contingency day for examinations. This is consistent with the qualification regulators document Exam system contingency plan: England, Wales and Northern Ireland - https://www.gov.uk/ government/publications/exam-system-contingencyplan-england-wales-and-northern-ireland The designation of a contingency day within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. It is part of the awarding bodies standard contingency planning for examinations. Centres must therefore remind candidates that they must remain available until 24 2020 should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan. Starting times of examinations The published starting time of all examinations is either 9.00 am or 1.30 pm. Each examination must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable. Centres may change the starting time of an examination within the scheduled morning or afternoon session without notifying OCR but candidates must start morning examinations no earlier than 8.30 am and by 9.30 am and afternoon examinations no earlier than 1.00 pm and by 2.00 pm. If candidates are taking two or more examinations in a session and the total time is three hours or less, centres may decide the order in which to hold them. Centres may also give candidates a supervised break of no more than twenty minutes between papers within a session. This must be conducted within the examination room, under formal examination conditions at all times. This does not apply to candidates with approved supervised rest breaks. Leaving the examination Candidates must remain under supervision until 10.00 am for morning examinations and until 2.30 pm for afternoon examinations. For examinations of less than one hour s duration, candidates must be supervised until the published finishing time of the examination or 30 minutes after the published starting time, whichever is later. Timetable deviations If you need to arrange overnight supervision, the forms do not need to be returned to OCR but must be completed and held in your centre records. When a change is made to the published starting time of an examination, it is the responsibility of the centre to inform all candidates affected by the alteration. Exams Timetable Tool The exams timetable tool contains dates for OCR, AQA, Pearson and WJEC examinations. It is available via The Exams Office website, www.theexamsoffice. org and can be used to search, collate, export and print timetable information. Please note that you will need to be a member to access the information. Enquiries about membership for this site must be directed to The Exams Office directly and not the individual awarding bodies. Centres must ascertain the dates for any papers not shown on the OCR timetable from Centre Data and Meetings: Telephone 01223 553998 Email: timetable@ocr.org.uk
