January 13th, 2016 Mark Your Calendars! - Monthly Meeting 6:00pm, Feb 4 th at El Sombrero in Pearl. MS Corvette Club: PO Box 2703 Jackson, MS 39207 Be sure to Like the Mississippi Corvette Club on Facebook. From the President Happy New Year. January brings us into another great Corvette year filled with fun, food and fellowship. Last year was a great year but this year hopes to be ever better. We are going to try and do something different with a cruise in January weather permitting to the Dinner Bell in McComb, MS. We have made this trip before a couple of years ago to eat at their revolving tables. It is a nice ride and the food is great. More information will come out on it this week when we can see what the weather may do. We will also do our annual drive to Louisville to Lake Tiak O Khata in February. It is time to start thinking about our annul MSCC dues. They are due NLT 31 March but earlier are much appreciated to facilitate the banking business. They can be paid by check, cash, or on line on the web site. It is not too early to begin thinking about our MS Corvette Classic and determining new sponsors for our event. We will be sending out the forms to use this month for sponsors and those who donate to our silent auction. You may think it is a little early but many businesses have to finalize their budgets for donations by the end of January. We need to try and make this year even better than the last. In April a number of us will be going to the Corvette show in Hot Springs, AR. The information on the show will be coming out in an email this week. The show is hosted by the Central Arkansas Corvette Club. If you remember last February two of their members came down to visits the McDades and made the trip with us to Louisville. This is a great opportunity to make new Corvette friend and invite them to our show and by the way it too is an indoor show. Remember if you have any ideas for cruises or great places to eat send your information to April and she will get it to the right folks to work on it.

Fellow MSCC Members and Corvette Enthusiasts, As many of you know we have been discussing at meetings about going to other Corvette Club car shows in other states. To date we have had members attend shows in Louisiana, Texas, Florida, and Alabama and as a result many have attended our MS Corvette Classic from these states. In an effort to increase attendance at the MS Corvette Classic a number in our club who met members of the Central Arkansas Corvette Club at the car show in Slidell are planning to attend their annual show in Hot Springs, Arkansas during the period 21-23 April 2016. Our only two goals are to have fun and encourage them to attend our show. Previously we have not had anyone from their club to attend our show. This will be a great opportunity to meet an encourage them to come to our show. I am attaching the flier they gave us at the show in Slidell, LA with all of the information for registration at the hotel and for their show. It looks like a great event and is also an indoor show as well. The host Hotel for the Hot Springs show is shown as the Austin but has since been sold to new owners and is now the Hot Springs Hotel and Spa. This hotel is right beside the convention center where the show is located and easy walking to the little downtown area. The number for the hotel is 877-623-6697 and the rate is $97.00 plus tax including a free breakfast daily. We will convoy up as a group for all those who wish to attend the show. If you are interested in attending please let Tom Gerity @ 601-668-0533 or tcgerity@comcast.net. More information to follow prior to the event.
