Application form for admission into PG Programme is available in college website. 2. Only candidates who have completed regular 3 yr. Hons. Degree in 2017 & 2016 are eligible to apply. 3. Fill in all appropriate boxes in block letters. 4. Read carefully the payment mode (DD) section positively. 5. Paste passport size colour photo in the space provide. 6. Put your and your guardians signature(s) in the space provide. 7. Enclose the necessary documents (list provided bellow). 8. Submit the application form with requisite fee (in DD) at the college during working hours (11.00-3.00) within the stipulated date 30.05.2017 08.06.2017. 9. Application form, incomplete in any respect, is liable to be cancelled. Passport Size photograph to be affixed on the box of the Form. 5. Self attested photo copy of Sc/ST/OBC/PWD Certificate issued by the appropriate authority, if claimed quota. 6. M.Sc. in Zoology Total No. Of Seats 20 SELECTION PROCESS: General Principles 60% seats in every department will be for the students of the Vidyasagar University and Remaining 40% seats will be for other Open Competition. CATEGORY I: HOME UNIVERSITY (V.U) SEATS (60%)- Only students passing out of Vidyasagar University may opt for it (Selection to be made only on the basis of marks obtained in the Hons. Subject.) CATEGORY II: OPEN COMPITETION SEATS (40%) Student passing out of any University, including V.U may opt for it. (Selection on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test &Hons. Subject). This 60% and 40% may be relaxed in case of non availability of the applicants in either category. Quota for SC/ST/OBC will be considered as per Govt. Order. Number of seats will be calculated and considered separately for 60% seats of V.U. students and 40% seats for open competition. Fraction of 0.5% or more will be rounded to the next whole number. In case of non-availability of students of SC/ST/OBC category, the seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC will be converted General Category. 3% of the total seats in each category (GEN/SC/ST/OBC) will be reserved for Persons with Disability(PWD). Merit list will be prepared on the percentage of Disability. In case on nonavailability of PWD will be converted to normal seats of the respective Categories. **FOR THE STUDENTS OF V.U A) 60% of total seats in each department will be for the students of V.U. B) Selection will be made strictly on merit. C) Marks obtained in Hons. Will be the sole criteria. Honours candidates of the current session and immediately preceding session (2016 & 2017) will be considered equally. D) In case of equal marks in Honours, total marks/percentage of marks of immediately preceding Examination are to be taken into account for ranking. 2/5
**FOR THE STUDENTS OF OTHER UNIVERSITIES A) 40%seats in each department will be for open competition. B) These seats will filled up on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test & Hons. Subject. C) The students of other universities will have to appear at Entrance Test. The minimum marks for appearing at Entrance Test is as follows: 50% marks in respective Hons. Subject (for Gen. Candidates) 45% marks in respective Hons. Subject (for SC/ST/OBC/PWD Candidates) **The students of V.U may appear at Entrance Test & they have to secure the minimum marks as specified above. **Questions of the Entrance Test Will be MCQ pattern; Full Marks 50, Total no. of Questions 50, Time One and half hour.
