AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING (AME) COURSE PHTI is imparting training in Mechanical stream (Helicopters and power plants) 1. Airframe Rotary Wing Aircraft (RA) 2. Engines (a) Jet Engine (JE) (b) Piston Engine (PE) PEDAGOGY Training conforms to DGCA approved ab-initio training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and prepares candidates to appear in the basic license examination. The training course in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering is designed to give the students a comprehensive knowledge of helicopter and its systems, and the good maintenance practices to enable them to become skilled and competent maintenance professionals. FACULTY Faculty members with a wealth of academic, practical and corporate work experience are part of the institute. The faculty comprising of industry experts, Engineers and Pilots highly respected in their fields, contribute to the stature of the institute with a vast resource of intellectual capital and industry experience. A panel of guest lecturers are generated and maintained from the industry experts on various subjects. 8

COURSE STRUCTURE The approved basic training course shall consist of A) Knowledge training (Classroom theory sessions) B) Knowledge examination C) Practical training (Work shop practical sessions) D) On the job practical training The knowledge training element shall cover the subject matter for Aircraft maintenance licenses. Students shall have access to study of helicopters in an approved maintenance organization. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION The minimum educational qualification for admission of the course has been fixed as laid down by DGCA for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering training course; The candidate having a minimum qualification of 12 th Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) class or equivalent with Physics, However merit list for admission will be based on aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English (PCME) OR Holders of Diploma in Engineering (Three year course) recognized by AICTE OR Graduates in science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Any higher qualification in science with Physics, Mathematics or chemistry. OR B.E. or equivalent qualification on related branch of Engineering 9

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION Hostel accommodation shall be provided to limited candidates. There shall be separate accommodation for boys and girls. Accommodation shall be allotted on first come first serve basis. On merit of the case, as decided by the Management. MEDICAL FITNESS The students shall get the medical examination done before they are admitted to the training institute by a doctor possessing at least an MBBS degree in an approved format. Candidates shall not have any physical disabilities or color blindness, which may interfere in discharging the duties as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. CLAUSE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS Foreign students shall submit NOC/Security clearance certificate issued by DGCA. DURATION OF THE COURSE Duration of the course shall be 3 Years (Six Semesters). RESERVATION ON JOB TRAINING Reservation policy as per Government guidelines. The students under the guidance of experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer shall be permitted to take on job training in the maintenance of helicopters at Pawan Hans facilities at Mumbai, Delhi and other areas of operation. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Depending on the availability and suitability, Pawan Hans Ltd. may consider offering jobs to meritorious students as per the requirement. It is not obligatory on the part of Pawan Hans Ltd. to offer job to any student of PHTI, however, all necessary guidance shall be given. 10
