HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENT (2017-18) CLASS V ENGLISH Kids, the much awaited holidays are here yet again and it s time to play and have fun!! We have planned for you some fun activities to make the optimum use of your energy and give a vent to your creativity so that you continue learning during the holiday break as well. Parents are requested to encourage their ward to do the homework independently. They can help the child if he/she needs help. Creativity and originality of the work will be appreciated. Homework should be done neatly on A4 size coloured sheets. Compile and put your holiday homework in an attractive folder. Now here are some interesting activities for you to do and to keep yourself creatively busy. ACTIVITY 1: Select any four characters from your favourite cartoon. Give a twist to the ending of that cartoon by creating an interesting story of your own using the four characters you have selected in a different backdrop and setting. Keep your story limited to 100-150 150 words. Don t forget to give a title to your story. Make a comic strip of four equal size frames based on the most interesting scene from the cartoon. Create your own dialogues for the comic strip.
ACTIVITY2: Create a graphic of countable and uncountable noun journal or a pictionary with twenty new words you have heard while learning in class. Prepare the journal using A4 coloured sheets. Then, write countable and uncountable noun in it and draw or paste a picture of it. You can take the help of thesaurus for this.
