It s a time full of joy, I get to buy new toys..!! Holidays... I keep waiting for some Summer break, here I come..!! Dear Parents, Holiday! Just the word excites and overwhelms a child. A child loves holiday but holidays don t necessarily mean just rest and play. Holidays are always a welcome break from the normal routine and all look forward to them. It gives our children the opportunity to pursue all those activities that they enjoy but never find enough time to indulge in. We are going to engage our children with certain responsibilities and also help them to enjoy their holidays with fun-filled activities which lead to the enhancement of their creativity and artistic expression. You can take advantage of this extended time off to school to think and know about nature and people around you. Here are the ways by which you can make your holidays fun and learning at the same time. CARE AND CONCERN FOR LOVED ONES This is your chance to look after your parents, grandparents, elders and even younger brothers and sisters in their daily chores.
CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT Nature will love you if you love it. So daily visit a nearby park along with your parents and talk about things you see around. Keep a bowl of water outside in the balcony / terrace for birds to drink, as it is very hot. CULTIVATE MANNERS Use four magic words SORRY, PLEASE, THANK YOU and EXCUSE ME extensively. Help parents in small household chores like dusting of the house, cleaning wardrobes and watering the plants. Be polite. Don t throw wrappers here and there. Don t pluck flowers and leaves. PERSONAL HYGIENE Brush your teeth twice a day. Trim your nails once a week. Keep your surrounding and environment neat and clean. Take bath daily. READING TIME Read story books and newspaper daily. From the story books and newspaper you have read, display the new you have learnt on a Word tree. words To make a word tree Take a small, old bowl and fill it with mud. Now fix a dried twig or a branch of a tree in it. Cut leaves out of different coloured sheets provided. Write 15 words that you have learnt on each leaf. E.V.S World Environment Day is on 5 June, So adopt the policy of REUSE to save mother Earth. Make a letter box using old plastic bottles. Cover it with black and red paper or you can colour it. Make different slips having one word each related to your environment. Ex. Plant, Tree, Air etc. Put one slip daily in your letter box. Paste six different food items of India in your scrapbook. Paste pictures of traditional dress of any 5 states in your scrap book. Plant at least one plant with your name around your house / colony GUIDELINES FOR HOLIDAY HOMEWORK Make a paper bag and write a meaningful message of your choice on it to spread awareness to save environment. Use this bag to bring your holiday homework to school. Holiday homework should be submitted in the first week of the school after vacation. Label your holiday homework. Manage your time in such a way that a little work is done every day and there is no piling up for the last moment. Keep a fixed time for doing your work every day. Students own work will be appreciated. (Parents may help) The school will reopen for all the classes on Monday 2 nd July 2018 as per summer timings of the school.
