Students enhanced their knowledge on various topics and became aware of their surroundings through class discussions and corresponding written exercises which were done in their book General Knowledge Update. The following lessons were completed in the months of : January to February- Lessons-30,31,32,33,34 and 35

E.V.S 1. Lesson 17 : My Green World- In this lesson the students were introduced to different kinds of plants like trees, shrubs and herbs. Plants are useful in many ways - This fact was illustrated through examples and colourful pictures. The students also attempted written exercises which enhanced their knowledge of the same. Activities : The students were taken around the school garden and various herbs, shrubs and trees were pointed out to them. They also drew a picture of a plant and labelled its parts. They sprouted seeds in the class and learnt about germination. They made a colourful collage of all the things that plants give us. 2. Lesson 18 : Animals Around Us: ( Reading only) In this lesson, students learnt about various animals found in their surroundings. Some live in naturally made shelters in jungles eg. bear cave. The animals which live in houses and farm are called pet and domestic animals respectively. They are kept in shelters made by man eg. cow barn. The students also learnt about animals and their young ones. eg. horse calf, deer fawn. 3. Lesson 19 : The Earth and The Sky : The lesson was read and the different aspects of our planet Earth were introduced to the students. They were shown a globe and the following features of the Earth were explained to them to facilitate easy comprehension: a. Geographical land forms of the Earth like the plains, hills, mountains, valleys etc b. Sources of water Corresponding exercises were done in the book and notebook.

Maths 1 Days of the Week Month of the Year Students had made calendar for the month in which their birthday falls. In the calendar students highlighted Holidays, weekends and other Important dates. 2. Seasons Students came to know about different seasons of India and months related to seasons like : July and August are the Rainy months. April, May and June are the summer months etc. 2. Shapes ( 2D and 3D ). Plane shapes like square, rectangle, triangle, circle, cube and solid shapes such as sphere, cone and cylinder were explained using objects and examples from daily life. Models /objects of various shapes were shown. Activity a) Simple shapes were cut and pasted in the note-books. b) Using coloured paper, children made different figures from basic shapes.

Art n craft : Our budding artists honed their skills and learnt to use the hues on their palettes to make attractive art and craft projects. 1. Lohri Celebration 2. Vasant Panchami 3. Republic Day Celebration 4. Best Out Of Waste Competition 5. Chocolate Day 6. Valentine s Day 7. Cooking Without Fire Competition. Indian dance : Students learnt to dance to patriotic songs in synchronized movements. Taekwando: A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Students learnt middle punch for overall development of the body and self - defence. Library : To enhance their reading skills, the children visited the library every week and read interesting story books provided there. Western Dance : Contemporary dance moves were learnt on patriotic compositions.

Grade - II ENGLISH PROSE 1. Lesson 18- The Clever Woodcutter A classic story displaying wit and humour. Dramatization and role play staged independently by the Students. 2. Lesson 19- The Pitpat s Journey (Rapid Reading) Teacher has shown experiment on water cycle. GRAMMAR- 1. Pronoun Teacher read a story and children raised their hand when they heard the pronoun. 2. Comprehension Recap of high frequency words done in the class. Unseen passage from the book has been done in the class. 3. Creative Writing on following topics has been done in the class- Holi My Best Friend. 4. Homophones Activity- word riddles has been asked in the class.. Revision has been done in the class.

. To create an environmental awareness and the need to preserve our ecosystem, our little ones were introduced to various aspects of our vibrant flora and fauna. The children were introduced to topics The Kiwi and The Giraffe Weevil s. Colourful presentations along with detailed highlights and worksheets enabled the children to grasp the concepts. Famous music personalities like Dr. L. Subramanium and Bismillah Khan added music to our children s ears. Worksheets were attemped by the children as they were familiarised with the different facets of the lives of these great maestros and their rich contribution to our culture. Sports Legends Serena Williams, and Magnus Carlsen were introduced. Their achievements were highlighted and explained to the students. Mathematical Skills: The children learnt addition, subtraction and multiplication with the help of stick numbers on board. Concept of 3D shapes were reinforced with the help of paper folding 3D cubes. Language Skills: Sound words were done with their corresponding worksheets enhancing vocabulary building and sentence construction. Various grammar topics were reinforced through games and flash cards.
