These reports will be distributed to your child so please keep a look out over the next week. This report gives a snapshot of how a student performed in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy. It shows whether a student s achievements fall within the middle 60% of the Australian results for their year level and how they compare with the national average on each strand of the tests. School results will be published following ACARA s release of the National Summary Report on Wednesday 5 August. Voices on the Coast Mr Walker and Mr Harvey accompanied a group of students to the Sunshine Coast University on Thursday to Voices on the Coast. New extra-curricular activity Hi Yandina State School, I have been a muso and a school teacher in WA for many years and I ve just moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast and I am keen to get some guitar lessons happening at Yandina State School. I aim at creating an atmosphere of joy for music and use music to help children express themselves and boost their self-esteem. For Semester 2 I am proposing that I teach in groups of 2 and 3 and then re-group according to motivation for the final term. We may even get some acoustic groups happening. Eventually, if there is enough interest I would like to form young bands and encourage performance and song writing skills. At my last school in Margaret River, as a music specialist and private tutor, we created over 35 young rock bands (over a 10 year period) that performed, recorded and created their own CDs. Most bands had keyboards, bass, drums and vocals. I have created rock bands for children as young as 9. I have an introductory fee of $12 per lesson for the term (blocks of 10 lessons) and ask that this be paid at the beginning of the term. The lessons will be held each Wednesday for 30 minutes after lunch. Thanks Phil Foord armonicasoundhealing.com P 0424 594 549
