HOMEWORK POLICY Level Upper Primary (P5-6) Estimated total amount of time spent on homework daily 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours
ATTENDANCE School attendance is compulsory. If a student is absent from school, the student must present a Medical Certificate or letter from parents/guardians to explain the absence upon returning to school. PUNCTUALITY Flag raising ceremony will start at 7.30 a.m. All students are to be in school by 7.25 a.m. Students will be deemed late for school if they arrive at the school after 7.30 a.m. Students may be given disciplinary consequences if they are habitually late for school.
LUNCH PASS We DO NOT encourage our students to exit the school to have lunch if they have after-school activities. They can have their lunch at the school canteen. SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS and need to have their lunch at home can apply for lunch pass. If you would like to apply for Lunch Pass, please inform your child s Form teacher.
HANDPHONE POLICY 1. Not to take out their mobile phone and no usage of mobile phone AT ALL within the school premises 2. Strongly advised not to bring mobile phones to school. 3. Consequence: Mobile phones to be retained by teacher and return only to parent/guardian. NO USAGE OF MOBILE PHONE WITHIN SCHOOL COMPOUND

IMPORTANCE OF HOME-SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP Children learn best when parents and teachers work together to encourage and support them. High level of parental involvement improved pupil learning, attendance and behaviour. School alone cannot address all of a child s development needs. 13

ENGLISH LANGUAGE The STELLAR Curriculum Strategies for English Language Learning and Reading It is an English Language curriculum for primary schools in Singapore. It hopes to develop children who love reading and have a strong foundation in the English Language.
Preparation for PSLE Revision (Semester 2) Teachers would have finished covering the STELLAR curriculum in Semester 1. Teachers will help students to revise for Prelim and PSLE. Remedial For selected group of students PSLE Booklet $1/booklet/subject from the school bookshop. Teachers will let children know when to purchase the book.

Help your children make sense of the world around them by showing them science phenomena that occur in everyday activities. Helping Your Child to Enjoy Science Learning Science through Questioning Invite them to learn together. For example, you could say, That s an interesting question. Let s find out together! Acknowledge your children s efforts in asking questions and guide them as they look for an answer. Examples of living things around us Observing living things: An example of a living thing Fish Examples of questions How would you describe this animal? Which animal group does it belong to? What do fishes have in common? Engage your children by inviting them to ask questions or by asking them questions. They learn best this way! Sometimes, we may encounter challenging questions that you do not have an answer to. Don t be worried or afraid, we don t have to be a walking encyclopaedia to guide our children.
