The Messenger January 2019 HAPPY NEW YEAR! WELCOME! Rev. Dewey and Shannon Miller Plans are coming together to welcome our new pastor, Dewey Miller and his wife, Shannon. So far we have a group that will fill their pantry and refrigerator and also share gift cards to local restaurants. We also have a couple of volunteers to take a meal. If you are interested in participating in either of these activities you may call Linda Eggleston and volunteer. We would also like to have a Welcoming Lunch on Dewey s first Sunday here which will be January 6. This would take place in the Garden Room right after the church service. We will need volunteers to help with table set-up and clean-up. We will have a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for you sign if you are interested in helping with table set up and clean. up The most important thing you can do to welcome the Millers is to invite someone to church. Perhaps you know of someone who hasn t been to Central in a while and this would be the perfect opportunity to invite them back. Or, just invite a neighbor or friend who wants a good meal with fun people. Let s fill the pews on January 6. That would be a great welcome gift!! 1

STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN 2019 The Finance Committee and Leadership Team will be sharing our 2019 stewardship campaign soon, which will align with Pastor Miller s vision. Prayerfully consider how God is calling us to support His ministry at Central in the A GREAT BIG To everyone who helped make Angel Tree a successful mission this year. You helped make seventeen families have a great Christmas. Happy 2019! As we look forward to this new year filled with promise, we take a moment to reflect on the blessings of 2018. We are thankful for: 1)The dedicated teachers, co-teachers, and staff that make Central Child Care the premiere center that it is known to be, without them we would be lost! 2)Our management team members who volunteer their time to support the child care directors. They offer their guidance, opinions and expertise to help us be fiscally sound and focused on the future. 3)The support of our church family. Many have stepped up to help the child care and our families and staff. Many of the events we held this past year wouldn t have been possible without them. 4)Those who take care of our facility and grounds. They keep us in compliance with the many State rules we must follow. It takes a village to raise a child and we currently have 150 of them! Without everyone working together Central Child Care wouldn t be the great place it is! 5
