JKHA After-School Enrichments February 6 April 7 JCC MetroWest is excited to offer a variety of enrichment classes for your children at JKHA this fall. Enrichment classes will run from Monday, February 6 April 7. If you would like to sign your child up for any enrichment classes, please fill out this form and return it with a check made out to JCC MetroWest to Betty Wong in the Lower School Office by January 31. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Susan Hur at 973-530-3465 or shur@jccmetrowest.org. Dismissal: As security is a top priority, please make sure that you have identification on you when you arrive to pick up your child/children. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays enrichment classes end at 4:25pm. Friday enrichment classes end at 2:25pm. Dismissal will occur at the classroom in which the enrichment class is taught. If someone other than yourself is scheduled to pick your child/children up, please send an email to Susan Hur at shur@jccmetrowest.org by 2:00 that afternoon. MONDAYS: 8 Sessions (2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3) Cooking (Grades Pre K-3) $144/8 sessions Learn how to prep, slice and dice and create decadent dishes from appetizers to desserts. Whether this is your first time cooking or you are a top chef, everyone will have a great time becoming a chef. Chess (Grades K-5) $175/8 sessions Learn how to play the most popular game ever invented!! Come play the game of strategy and problem solving. Beginner students will learn: All the chess pieces and how they move Special moves like castling, en passant Key chess tactics such as Pins, Forks, Double Attacks, Skewers, Discovered Checks Basic Opening Theory and Defense Strategies. Intermediate and Advanced Students will focus on Opening, Middlegame and Endgame Strategies. Students will learn by analyzing famous chess games, solving checkmate puzzles and competing against classmates. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Grades 3-6) $120/8 sessions This class provides an opportunity for girls to have discussions about health and wellness. Through discussion and group exercises the children will learn to build self-esteem, develop leadership skills and create friendships. TUESDAYS: 9 Sessions (2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4) Musical Theatre (Grades K-2) $178/9 sessions Students will explore all different aspects of theater performance from Dancing to singing to acting and everything in between! Watch your students confidence and self-esteem grow as they sing and dance their way through this exciting class. TEKI: STEAM: Adding the Arts to STEM (Grades 1-2) $205/9 Sessions Bringing the Digital Arts into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics provides students the opportunity to become even more creative. The STEAM philosophy is innovative and takes your child s imagination to the next level. This class will use interactive lessons along with fun educational web-based programs to connect the arts to STEM. As a result, our renaissance students will design their own digital masterpieces! Drama Club (Grades 3-6) $135/9 sessions Learn how to properly audition, rehearsal protocol, character development all while preparing a play to be performed for parents on the last day of class.

Basketball with A MONEY Sportz (Grades 3-6) A Money Sportz will work on many aspects of the game of basketball including: ball handling, shooting, offensive moves, defense and all aspects of the game. While your child will practice ball-handling, dribbling, and shooting, they will also learn about good sportsmanship, teamwork, and the value of fair play. Our outstanding coaches take an individual interest in each child regardless of his or her ability on the court. Games will be played during each class to reinforce lessons taught. The goal of this class is to teach the fundamentals of the game of basketball while also stressing teamwork, sportsmanship, enthusiasm and the benefits of having positive attitude. There will also be games and contests throughout the session! WEDNESDAYS: 8 Sessions (2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/29, 4/5) Soccer with Go2Soccer (Grades K-2 and Grades 3-6) $170/8 sessions Go2soccer offers a variety of different programs that focus on building ball skills through interactive game play and unique soccer exercises. All our coaches are trained to bring the best out in our players through positive reinforcement and hard work. You will notice progress not only on the soccer field but also a boost in self confidence in any player passing through our program. Gymnastics (Pre K-1) $152/8 sessions This intro to gymnastics class will emphasize skills on flexibility, strength and performance. Gymnasts will be guided through drills and routines to land the perfect stick! Hip Hop (Grades 1-3) $160/8 sessions This fun, fast-paced class will teach students all the cool new moves in a safe and exciting environment! Watch as flexibility and coordination improve with every step and understanding of rhythm and timing shine with each new routine. A perfect class for students of all skill levels. Group Guitar (Grades 3-6) $160/8 sessions Our expert guitar instructor will educate your beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to guitar fundamentals: Time signatures, picking styles, chords, scales, and strumming patterns. Guitars will be provided during class. THURSDAYS: 9 Sessions (2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6) Sports and Games (Grades K-2) Expose your child to a variety of sports. Fundamentals of each sport will be taught through fun drills and game like situations. This class also includes fun games such as running games, cooperative games and more. TEKI: PreSTEAMers (Pre K-K) $205/9 sessions Everyday our children are exposed to science, engineering, arts and mathematics. This semester we will use interactive lessons along with fun educational web-based programs to connect technology with these concepts. Additionally, we will explore the fundamentals of the computer and address computer safety in an age-appropriate way

Magic (Grades 3-5) Do you love magic? Then come join us as we reveal a magician s secret every week. Magic tricks will include professional tricks that you get to take home, as well as every-day objects like cards, coins, rope and paper. Each trick will be performed and explained. At the last class you will put on a magic show that will amaze and delight your friends and family. World Dance (Grades 4-6) From Bollywood to Hip Hop to Israeli Folk Dance to Afro-Haitan Dance to Salsa, students will learn a wide range of dance styles from around the world. Students expand their dance vocabularies and work on technique derived from cultures spanning the globe. Street Hockey with Sports Universe (Grades 4-6) $200/9 sessions Sports Universe will be offering a fun and fast paced Street Hockey Enrichment! Kids will be split into teams to work on drills, practice, and real game play each week. We will provide the equipment.
