NCS Board Members Mr. Andy Rountree New Covenant School is overseen by a seven member Board. Board members serve four year terms and after two consecutive terms, Board members must rotate off. During the summer of 2018 New Covenant has had four Board seats come open. Three members rotated off after serving two terms and one Board member has joined the staff (Jodie Hawthorne) meaning she had to resign from the Board. Andy is a partner at Palmetto Insurance and over the past 11 years he has managed insurance programs for businesses and organizations. Please join us in welcoming Andy as he serves on the New Covenant School Board! And stay tuned as we announce our other three new Board members. New Covenant is excited to announce that we have filled our four Board seats with four highly qualified individuals. The first new Board member we would like to welcome is Mr. Andy Rountree. Andy and his wife Bailey have been married nine years and have three children, Drew and Jackson, at NCS in first grade and K-5, and one-yearold Clara, the rowdy one of the group. NCS Board Members Mr. David Moore David Moore was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up all over the US as his family traveled with the Air Force. His parents were both originally from Gaffney, SC so the Upstate has always been home. David finished high school in Gaffney, earned his BA in Communication from Clemson University, and later earned an MBA from Gardner-Webb University. For the past 14 years David has worked for Habitat for Humanity, serving in various positions at local affiliates and at their US headquarters. Preschool Update Mrs. Kayla Gibson New Covenant School has added another great teacher to our faculty, this time adding Mrs. Kayla Gibson! Mrs. Gibson has been hired to teach one of our K3 classes. Kayla is joining us from Cameron, North Carolina. She has a Master s Degree in Special Education. She has taught in the public schools, homeschooled her five lovely daughters, and most recently taught in a 3 year old preschool class. Gibson, is working with Wilderness Way Girls Camp School as the Family/Social worker. They will be living in Fair Play near the camp. Mrs. Gibson is excited to become a part of the New Covenant School family working along with the staff, parents, and students to have a wonderful new school year. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Gibson to our school! Her husband of 29 years, Tim Supply Lists Have you received your supply list? If not, you can find the lists on the website. https://newcovschool.net/supply-lists/

Preschool Update And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17 This summer, God has again proven Himself faithful to our school in the way He has provided the teachers for the 2018-2019 school year. We are thrilled to be adding Mrs. Kayla Gibson as the 3-day K3 teacher, Mrs. Hope McLaughlin as the 5-day K3 teacher and Mrs. Jade Burdette as a 5-day Aide. Each of these ladies have a passion for teaching children to see Christ in all things (see Col. 1:17) and to guide our students in being lifelong learners. When you meet each of these ladies, please make sure to give them a warm NCS welcome! starting, and we have been busy planning and preparing for the new school year. For the 2018-2019 school year, we will be learning how to Put on the Armor of God (Eph. 6:10-17) during our chapel times. We are all born into a sinful world so we need to be prepared to stand against Satan and be prepared for the spiritual battles we will face. Letters, numbers, colors and shapes are good things to learn about, but above all else learning to live for the Lord in all that we do is a lesson that has eternal benefits. Parents, we are so excited to come alongside you this year in teaching and training your children for the Lord!

New Covenant School is thrilled to announce we have hired Miss Grace Hermesmann to teach 2nd grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Faculty Update Miss Grace Hermesmann Miss Hermesmann is from Jobstown, New Jersey, and graduated from Grove City College (PA) with degrees in English and French. She first became intrigued by classical education during her undergraduate studies, where she spent time interning and volunteering at two different classical Christian schools. One of the schools, Grove City Christian Academy, is led by Mr. Sidney Henriquez, a good friend of our own Headmaster, Mr. Canney. Grace will be new to South Carolina and is eager to begin exploring the South after marrying her fiancé, Joseph, this August! Grace is a lover of learning, and has a heart for seeing young students grow into pursuers of truth. She looks forward to jumping into this process with New Covenant s second graders this school year. In her leisure time, Grace enjoys having a cup of tea and reading a good book. She also loves to write, sing hymns, bike, exercise, and spend time outdoors! Please join us in welcoming Miss Hermesmann (soon to be Mrs. Swanson =) to our school staff! School Security Every year we look to improve our security. We are happy to report that this summer NCS has purchased 22 four channel Motorola walkie-talkies. This addresses our most pressing concern for our school, which was communication.

Mrs. Kayla Sanders New Covenant is delighted to announce that we have hired Mrs. Kayla Sanders to teach 5th grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Faculty Update Mrs. Sanders is a native to South Carolina, growing up in the Starr-Iva community. Always knowing that she wanted to become a teacher, she went to Erskine College and majored in Elementary Education. Shortly after graduating, Mrs. Sanders enrolled at Southern Wesleyan University where she earned her Master s in Elementary Education. She joins the New Covenant faculty with ten years of experience teaching 4th grade and two years of experience as a Curriculum Coordinator in the public school system. She is excited about her new role of teaching 5th grade in a classical Christian school and being able to join families in a partnership to promote student learning in a Christ-centered environment. Back to School Night Save the Dates Back to School Night is coming up on Monday, August 20 at 6:00 pm. Dinner will be provided and this is an event for the whole family. First Day of School will be Wednesday, August 22! Mrs. Sanders is married to Chad, and they have a six year old son that is in first grade at New Covenant. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, shopping, traveling, and working with the children s ministry in her church.

NCS LIFE 2018 Graduation On May 25th New Covenant School held its annual commencement exercises for the graduating class of 2018. It was a blessed celebration which featured a time of singing worship songs to give the Lord thanks for His goodness and kindness to our graduates, words of encouragement from our commencement speaker, the Reverend Patrick Coach Miller, and of course the issuing of diplomas. The 2018 graduation ceremony was the 12th in New Covenant s history and brings our total number of graduates to 59. Praise the Lord! Communication Facebook - New to the school? Have you liked us on Facebook or Instagram? This is a great way to keep up with things going on at NCS! All of our faculty will be switching over to email addresses that end with @newcovschool.net. Most faculty will have first initial, last name @newcovschool.net. Mr. Canney's new email is canney@newcovschool.net.
