AES Events for this week! CAFES Farmers Market - May 31st (TODAY!) from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm in the University Union. AES and Tractor Pull will be hosting a booth during this time. Swing by the UU to see what our clubs and other CAFES Clubs have to display. BBQ Opportunity - May 31st (TODAY!) at 6:00 pm at the Crops Unit. Come help our BBQ team cook for the Ag Ambassadors Banquet. Beach Day Quarterly Activity - June 2nd (THIS Friday!) at 2:00 pm at Grover Beach. What better way to de-stress than a relaxing afternoon at the beach? Join us this Friday at Grover and feel free to bring any frisbees, footballs, or beach games you would like to play. Week 9 Safety Tip 2 With Spring Quarter 2017 coming to a close, let s always remember safety first in the Shops! Don t rush with machinery and be sure to stay safe! When operating the lathe, never leave the chuck key in the chuck! Your hand must be on the key whenever it is off the tool storage cradle until it is placed back in the cradle. Serious injury/damage can occur if the key is left in the chuck and the machine is turned on and the chuck is engaged.

Vineyard and Shop Mechanic 4 Laetitia Vineyard and Winery is looking for someone to oversee our shop and be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and basic repair of tractors, and other farm equipment. Some fabrication and welding required, hauling equipment and materials. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills to gain experience in the wine industry. This is a full time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Minimum requirements for all LTV employees are to possess a positive attitude, team spirit, honesty, and a strong work ethic. Basic Job Responsibilities: Inspect vehicles, tractors and other equipment for needed repairs/ adjustments Perform required maintenance Move equipment from one ranch to another Prepare equipment for connect equipment for various vineyard uses Key Qualifications: Basic Knowledge of the operation of internal combustion and diesel engines and related power trains Basic Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems Basic Knowledge of servicing requirements and maintenance procedures for motor vehicles and tractors Advanced mechanical ability and skills Ability to analyze and solve problems Ability to work alone Ability to plan work and achieve required results Ability to work safely Background in Agriculture is preferred but not necessary Licenses Clean DMV Physical Environment: Often working outdoors in extremes of heat/humidity/cold and other weather conditions Exposed to dust, noise, gasoline, diesel fuel and solvents Works with flammable and toxic materials Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Work is strenuous involving bending, stooping, awkward body positions Please submit resumes to Chelsea@laetitiawine.com or fax to 805-473-7215.

Project Expo 2017 will be happening: Friday, June 2nd at 2 PM in the Engineering Plaza near building 192. The all-college Project Expo features more than 200 individual and team projects. The displays and hands-on demonstrations represent the culmination of one to two years of student-led project innovation. Outstanding Student Awards will be given out at 2:00 pm.
