HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE C Honeysett OCR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE GCSE Single Award C Honeysett The controlled assessment (A911) unit, worth 60% of GCSE (30% for Double Award), has been completed in Year 10. Students will work on examination content throughout the course of Year 11 in preparation for the A912 examination, worth 40% of GCSE (20% for Double Award), in June 2016. Confirmed examination date 16 th June (pm) Double Award C Honeysett The controlled assessment (A913) unit, worth 30% of Double Award GCSE, has been completed in Year 10. Students will work on examination content throughout the course of Year 11 in preparation for the A914 examination, worth 20% of Double Award GCSE, in June 2016. Confirmed examination date 22 nd June (pm) HISTORY D Sharman EDEXCEL HISTORY GCSE D Sharman Controlled Assessment begin in September, 3 questions in total, all questions completed under examination conditions. Question 1- Students have ½ hour to complete. Notes on 1 A4 page are allowed (typed means they can get more on page). Questions 2 and 3 each 1 hour long and students allowed 2 A4 pages of notes. All questions completed individually. No re-sit/redraft allowed-notes are VITAL to success. Controlled Assessment makes up 25% of final GCSE History grade. So far students have studied 2 out of 3 examined units and have had 2 PPEs on each unit. Controlled assessments should be completed by end of October. Revision for November PPE will take place in November. December to April students will study the final examined unit - Crime and Punishment. Each examined unit makes up 25% of final grade. April and May will be revision of Surgery unit and Germany unit. Department will offer revision session in the February half term, Easter holidays and the May half term. All 3 examinations take place in June 2016. Some after school clubs are/will be in place to assist pupils in order to maximise potential and therefore grades. Students being examined in sports where the school cannot provide guidance or facilities e.g. skiing, swimming etc, students must produce video evidence. A 15 minute Analysis of Performance controlled assessment will take place shortly after the February half-term break, date to be confirmed.
