The Leeward Community College Chancellor Leeward Community College seeks a creative, dynamic, and collaborative leader who advocates for student access and success to serve as its new Chancellor. The Chancellor serves as the chief executive officer for Leeward Community College and is responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and management of the College s academic and student affairs, as well as the career and community education programs. The Chancellor represents the University of Hawai i and acts on behalf of Leeward Community College within the community. The Chancellor also serves as the College liaison officer to the University of Hawai i President, President s staff, Board of Regents, and State Legislature under the direction of the Vice President for Community Colleges. Kaiāulu (community), Kāko o a Hō ihi i nā kānaka like ole (diversity and respect), Kūpono (integrity), and Kūākea (open access) are the College s core institutional values. The Chancellor is expected to maintain and to build upon these principles. Leeward Community College is a learning-centered institution committed to student achievement. As such, the Chancellor is responsible for establishing the College s long-term institutional goals and ensuring that the College serves the needs of its diverse student population. The Chancellor also fosters an environment that promotes trust and transparency through effective communication with a strong commitment to shared governance with the College s diverse faculty, staff, and student populations. The University of Hawai i System and Leeward Community College have made a special commitment to Native Hawaiians, the indigenous people of the islands. This commitment is demonstrated by the College s mission, program offerings, and support services at all locations. 50 Years of Service to the Community Established in 1968, Leeward Community College is the second largest of the seven colleges in the University of Hawai i Community Colleges (UHCC) System with over 6,700 credit and 2,600 non-credit students. Located on the island of O ahu, the College consists of two locations; a 49-acre main campus overlooking the harbor of Pu uloa (Pearl Harbor) in Pearl City, and the Wai anae Moku education center located along the Wai anae Coast. The College s service area includes Leeward and Central O ahu, which represents approximately one-third of the state s population. Leeward Community College is committed to providing an affordable, quality education to the community that fosters the development of each student s unique talents and taps their full potential to learn, grow, and succeed. Over the past 50 years, Leeward Community College has guided thousands of students on the path to higher education with over 30,000 degrees and certificates conferred in 15 associate degrees, 12 certificates of achievement, and 34 certificates of competence. As the first college in the University of Hawai i System to be developed without a connection to a pre-existing technical school, innovation as a guiding principle and a willingness to depart from tradition in order to bring the best of current educational practices to our students was and continues to be a driving force at the college to this day. Leeward s non-credit courses and programs have served approximately 75,000 participants with certificates in 7 industry categories including computers and technology, education and career planning, healthcare, industrial technology, and transportation. Leeward Theatre performances have attracted over 2.25 million attendees since 1974.

Mission Vision Leeward Community College is a learning-centered institution committed to student achievement. We believe that our students are enriched through a diverse intellectual and social environment, where learning occurs through exposure to world cultures, and through interaction with peoples of diverse experiences, beliefs, and perspectives. We hold ourselves accountable for providing a high-quality academic experience. Kūākea (open access) - We value all students.
