ROCKET RECORDER January 18, 2019 Dear Saint Nicholas Community, Thank you for all the parents who came to our Parent Meeting on Tuesday night. We tried something new by using Facebook Live for event too. By the number of views, it looks like it was well received. Hopefully, we can continue having our meetings streamed in the future. One of the highlights of the meeting was the show casing our new logo. The logo will be used for both church and school. We plan on unveiling the logo to everyone on Friday, February 1. Also, all of the students and staff at Saint Nicholas will be getting a t-shirt with the logo on it too. Next, we discussed the state of Wisconsin s School Report Card. With Saint Nicholas Catholic School being a part of Wisconsin School Choice, we have the option for our students to take the Forward test for grades 3-8. In talking with the Wisconsin Department of Instruction, we were opted in to receive a State Report Card, which means that we would have to take the Forward Exam in grades 3-8. Therefore, in April or May Saint Nicholas Catholic School would be taking the Forward Exam. Parents have the right to opt out of the Forward Exam for their son/daughter if they would like too. If you would like more information about the Forward Exam, please contact me at svanderloop@stnicholasfreedom.org or call the school at 920-788-9371 and I would be happy to talk to more about this topic. The teachers and I are busy getting everything ready for Catholic Schools Week at the end of the month. Maps testing will be finishing up next week, except for makeups or retakes which will carry over. If there are any talent show forms or grandparent forms still out can you turn them into the office, so we can plan accordingly. Thank you. Correction from last week s Rocket Recorder: All students in grades 3-8 are welcome to come up in the choir area and sing the songs for Catholic Schools Week mass, Sunday, February 3rd, at 10:30. Also, Saint Nick s Choir will be performing before mass and they should arrive no later than 10:15 and meet Mrs. Groh in church by the choir area. Thank you everyone for your support of Saint Nicholas Catholic School. Blessings. Scott Vanderloop Mission Statement: Rooted in our Catholic faith we empower, model and share the light of Christ with all we meet. Rocket Recorder 1
