TERM 2 WEEK 1 17th April, 2018 Dear Parents, Staff and Students I hope all families had a joyful holiday break. Students have returned eager to learn and there has been excited chatter about holidays today. Welcome to term 2, the 11 weeks that include our Cross Country; ANZAC Day Liturgy and March; Yr 4 camp; NAPLAN for years 3 and 5; Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist for some children; Athletics Carnivals; celebration of Pentecost; Teaching and Learning, assessing and reporting for ALL year levels. It sounds like a busy term ahead!!! Thank you again to all students, families and staff for your generous donations during term one towards the Lenten appeal for Project Compassion. We are now in the liturgical season of Easter. The Easter (Paschal) candle that was first lit at the Easter Vigil, and now burns during Liturgies in the Easter Season, is a constant reminder of the light for our lives that is Christ. Ever abiding with us is the presence of the Risen Christ who has assured us that He is with us until the end of time. Because of all this and more, we can acclaim with joy. May you all know joy in your day! I will commence interviews for Prep 2019 this term. Flyers and enrolment packages have been left at the kindy and some local day care centres. Any school families with prep age children for 2019 are encouraged to contact the office urgently so that their enrolment process can be completed this term before places are offered. Over the holidays we have had weatherproofing of our Montefalco Centre done. The southern end has had sheeting and an awning added and the northern end has been extended to cover the wheelchair access area and the paved area where we will have table seating. The project will be completed when fencing is put up this Saturday. We welcome Elen Freeman into our Yr 2 class this week. Elen is completing her practicum and will return again in term three. The next 6 months will be a busy period of organisation for our 90 th anniversary celebrations on September 14 th and 15 th. Our initial planning meeting is this afternoon commencing at 4:15pm in the library. Best wishes for the week ahead, Narelle Harney Principal DATE CLAIMERS TERM 2 TUITION FEES HCC Discount Scheme Families who are eligible for the Health Care Care/ Pension Card discount should ensure their applications are received in the main office by THIS FRIDAY, 20th April 2018 no later than 1pm.
